whiskey/whisky

OK, Im a southern boy, and Scotch is ok-not my personal type--so here goes--Jack, Crown, Forty Creek ,Knob creek, 3/4 full- and add a little coke for color--this is the traditional Rocker drink--needs to be made in Kentucky, Tenn., or Canada--also never turned down good shine--but if we are ever camped around any of you--you are welcome to try and change my mind-( there are so many I havent tried)-Vince

Wild turkey mixed with wild turkey American honey ( about 50:50), on ice. Drooling right now as I head to work.

We spent our week vacation in June taking in the Kentucky bourbon trail 6 distilleries and went to 2 more in area. I am a jack Daniel's man also. However several we tested were very good indeed. Woodford reserve, bookers, basil Hayden , (both from jim beam) and makers marks 46 and four roses small batch. And Henry McKenna single barrel..... Ok I like bourbons....I brought them all back to virginia

Try a little American Honey as a topping on vanilla ice cream.

Grew up in Possum Trot, Kentucky...having blue grass in my blood, I tried every kind of Kentucky Bourbon (shine included) over the years and after years of research I settled on Tennessee Whiskey (Jack Daniels on the rocks with a little branch water...purdy please). Go figure. Oh, I'm pretty sure we taught old Jack how to make wiskey, but he dang sure got it right! Country music and Tennessee whiskey. Good stuff.

Aren't they all single malt rallies? I know - it sometimes looks like a red wine rally but that's the early show. How are the MCDs working out? We love ours!

Hi Dave,

I can't take credit for the concept.

We drove like a bat out of <Moderator Edit> to try to get to the Wild Turkey distillery in time for their last tour of the day on May 22; 3:30 p.m., as I recall. Missed it by 8 minutes. When I rushed in to inquire about the tour, I was informed that we'd missed it. However, it was explained to me that everyone else had missed ALL the tours that day. Unbeknownst to me (a resident of Virginia), May 22 was Primary Election day in Kentucky - no alcohol served until the polls closed (6 p.m.). So, we were invited for their special "Prohibition Day" tour at 6 p.m. In appreciation for our patience, the tour guide gave us a little treat as we started the 6 p.m. tour - American Honey topping vanilla ice cream.

Pretty tasty stuff, that is. Quick, easy dessert for unexpected guests.

Take care,
Stu

I'll probably be called a heathen by some but never could acquire a taste for bourbon. My buddy's former girl friend would drink a vile concoction she called double jack, JD and Yukon Jack. She had a disposition to match.
I enjoy a glass of good single malt, Glenlivet is quite acceptable however Oban is nectar from the gods. Best shared with friends around a fire.

I guess I've got jaded burnt out taste buds, Got to have dark beer, light beer has no taste, Whisky needs to be raw & jagged like Old Crow or Ezra Brooks. Scotch, I'll sip Cutty on the rocks, As for Agave, Marguritas with what ever's under the shelf.
