Whitney Houston

Whitney Houston died this evening. I find this particularly sad. She touch my and my wife's hearts many times with her songs. We particularly liked her in The Preacher's Wife.

So long to a great songstress.

I find it incredibly sad as well. A lot of people lately seem to be going way too young. I grew up with Whitney. Forty eight years old, and gone. I saw the news on my facebook feed and couldn't believe it. I am glad you made this thread.

RVNeophytes2, yes, a troubled soul, but incredible talent.

RIP Whitney.

We definitely lost a gem.
But it didn't happen yesterday. It was cumulative.
It happened when she began her road down the use of drugs and alcohol which ruined the talent we knew and loved
Her rendition of our National Anthem was by and far the most memorable out of any I've heard; EVER.
Rest in Peace Whitney.

And history repeats itself. Dead from alcohol and drug overdoses.
Elvis
John Belushi
Michael Jackson
others
and now Whitney Houston

You would think these well to do, talented and supposedly intelligent people would catch on wouldn't you?
