I did watch it Saturday on TCM. It was also one of our "popcorn & a movie" night entertainments at the 2009 iRV2 National Rally. Can never get enough of it.

How is it one careless match can start a forest fire but it takes a whole box to start a campfire?

While watching the movie at the FMCA Rally in Redmon, Debbie Reynolds also brought along the dress Ms.Ball wore in the movie. It was also stated that the convertible that was in the beginning of the movie was changed I think, from a Ford to a Mercury or from a Mercury to a Lincoln as it couldn't handle the hills

Interesting fact. It was almost an engineering miracle that the cars of that era managed what they did. Simply basic horsepower, I know...what hair is left is grey! How many remember the slip-dolly?

I saw it a long long time ago as a kid in Jacksonville, FL. I think it cost $0.15. Have not seen it since, but still remember many scenes.

I am not a Lucy fan at all. With that said, we love The Long, Long Trailer and carry a copy of it and RV in our MH. The Long, Long Trailer is popular with the young kids as well.

We plan on continuing the "Popcorn & Movie" tradition in Bethpage. Love the movie especially when Ricky has problem pulling the rig due to Lucy's rock collection.

Probably a better question would have been " Who has never seen the long long trailer?" I doubt that you would find very many. It's an American classic.

Amazon has had it for awhile on DVD. Cheap too! Also remember that back in those days the speed limits on towing were more like 45 and 55 mph. That's where I got ours. Good luck!

They were devices with a set of wheels that held the trailer tongue. It had a connector that hooked to the ball on the car bumper. The weight of the trailer tongue was on the dolly instead of on the car ball (like they are now).
