Who is doing Sugar beet harvest in Eastern North Dakota
Just wondering who’s doing Sugar beet harvesting in Eastern ND?
How many years have you done this?
Where are you camped at?
Are you planning on doing this next year again?

Does this require manual labor?

My wife and I are driving truck for a sugar beet farmer in Reynolds, ND with FHU's near his grain bins. This is our 4th year and worst weather year so far. Most years it is dry and dusty and we get to run 8-10 days straight to finish. This year we ran for 2 days and have been sitting for the last 8 days. Looks like we might get back in the trucks again by Mon next week. Most of our loads go to Reynolds and some to Crookston, MN. It's a great way for a couple to make a quick $5/8k.

My folks have a farm in Grindstone City, are you hauling to Kinde? What farm are you working on? Drivers in ND get $25/hr. We had 6" of snow last night and going into the teens tonight. We would like to have some of that warmth here.

This 9,000 acre farm is owned by 4 brothers/cousins and they hire about 20 extra hands for the harvest, some locals and this years 3 RV's provided 5 drivers. Payment is by check at the end of driving which means you have to file ND non-resident tax, we paid $9 to ND tax last year. I have a post on IRV2 under "Workamper"
