Well done Don, as the Duke and I go back many years, maybe a little bit of follow up info that people may not know--recording is still very good and current today, but was recorded in 1973! Words written by John Mitchum (yep, actor and brother of Robert Mitchum) could use some more of this today in the way of music. Thanks for the memories!!!!!!!!!

Best,

Well Bob do you remember that Robert Mitchum had a song that he sang??? The "Moonshine" one???? "The Ballad of Thunder Road"......... I wonder if it was his brother that wrote that one.

Hey Don,
sorry for the late reply, (rally got in the way and I guess a senior momment or two) but no the brother didn't write it, Robert did.

By the way, Duke's very successful record above was the only recording he ever did in his voice. In the movies, (Singing Sandy, etc.) were all dubbed by others.

(Oh, a good triva website for old western stars: www.surfnetinc.com/chuck/trio.htm ) If that doesn't work, in search just type in : the old corral.

Best,
