? WHY, Human Nature ?
Why are there so many posts, that start with "I just bought XX, does anyone have any experience with this"?
Why not ask the question, before buying, are they just looking for reinsurance that they did the right thing?

I agree. That's why we are listening and looking hard before making the $100,000 plunge.

Yes, just like the question "Can my truck tow my new RV that I'm picking up today?", the posters usually are just looking for enablers to make them feel warm and fuzzy about a decision that's already been made. I'm like you - that horse is already out of the barn, so why ask??

I sort of knew better than to ask if anyone here built a RV from a F-700 diesel and a U-Haul box.
If i had it would have defintly been a 0 reply thread.

I think that some people are just wired to buy something that they didn't need or want because they perceive it to be a "bargain". Whether it is a bargain or not often turns out to be a matter of luck. I've seen some people that I thought were absolutely crazy to buy something turn around and sell it for more than they paid for it after using it for a period of time. I've never been that lucky.
I have to admit that I didn't know nearly as much about our RV as I should have before we bought. But it was one of the "you don't know what you don't know" deals. We were very fortunate and it has worked out better than it might have. Remember the old saying about fools rush in.....

Did you ever consider that asking that question might keep someone from sitting with an owners manual for hours trying to figure something out?

I believe the type of question we're referring to is more along the lines of "I just bought an XXXX RV - is this a good unit?" It's a little too late to be asking that question, as far as I'm concerned.

People who ask that question are looking for answers like, "that's a great deal on a great rig." Those of us who believe that will probably post it. However, those of us that think it's a bad deal and/or bad rig will probably not say anything. I, for one, am willing to give my two cents PRIOR to a purchase, but why bother if it's a done deal. After the deal no good will come by telling the buyer he/she made a mistake.

If you get a dozen replies you may want to call an attorney.

Prolly 'cause most people didnt find this forum until after buying and googling a problem.. I know I didnt. Then, after looking around, they might start to wonder if that, say, Winnebago (not picking on) really was a good deal after all, seeing how there's many a thread with problems...
I really dont care if you think I 'did good' or not, so I didnt ask...

And so....why wouldn't you read the owners manuals? That's what they're for.

Love reading owners manuals. It's my job, DW pushes buttons, then I read the manual so I can fix whatever was attached to the button.

Or I just bought xyz and I can't keep it between the lines. How did it drive before you bought it? If you are paying sometimes a lot more than you can buy a house ,why in the world don't you do your home work before you purchase? Or you want to say RTFM but we were all new at one time.
