Why I no longer like Ice Fishing.
Ever since we got the girls interested they keep sending us on scouting trips looking for better fishing spots.

Don't you folks know how to ice fish....
You go to the local fish market, the fish are already dressed out and lying there on a bed of ice, You go "I'll take that one and that one"... Pay for 'em.
And that.. I how you ice fish.
OH, as for the time you were supposed to be on the lake freezing your .. er... parts off......
Sitting over at Joe's cantina getting anti-froze.

The worst thing about ice fishing, is when you catch one bigger than the hole your fishing through!!

ok...just to save you the aches and pains i will share the biggest secret to not freezing your behind off...ice fishing.
Trolling on a nice warm snowmobile seat is the way to go...but....Leave the drag set loose....or you get pulled off alot...when you snag.
Warmest Regards
Trouble

This can only mean one thing. No ice house fishing homes older than 10 years will be allowed on area lakes. The end is neigh I tell ya. The end is neigh.

Sometimes, Sometimes.. And I will take this chance to point out that every year, EVERY YEAR some idiot goes out and sets up his ice shanty on ice that is very very clearly not thick enough and the rescue folks have to go to work shortly after.. Or they go out on the ice during break up and find themselves drifting down stream on a melting ice flo.
So if you plan on walking on water. PLEASE make sure it is very solid, very hard, water and not the liquid kind.. cause it's FREEZING in that pond.
How many baths, will it take till he knows
That think ice won't hold you up.
And how many times can he freeze off his toes
befor he learns how to walk.
Yes and how many times must 9-1-1 be called
To come and fish him out of the lake.
The answer my friend, Is it will never end
Yes it's true stupid will never end.
I hope you folks can figure out the tune that's written to, Apoliges to the coposer.

At one time, many many moons ago I chummed around with a native fisherman who lived west of Sault Ste Marie on highway 532 (Second Line) His family were fishermen and they fished as often as the local weather allowed. In the late winter early spring one year he was about two miles out on Lake Superior when he noticed he was actually moving east while supposedly standing still. He jumped on his snowmobile and made a run for shore only to come up to open water. So after stopping and circling many times he realized that his only possibility of survival was to try to skip across the open water.
He went as far south on the broken off ice flow he was on and turned north toward Gros Cap Point and opened up all 30 of his available horses. When he came to the end of the ice flow and went out onto the open water he claimed he was terrified but he kept the throttle full on and managed to cross a couple hundred feet of open water and then bounced back up onto the shore ice and headed home.
He showed up at the airport bar about an hour after this took place and was telling us 'non believers' his story so we all went out climbed on our machines and headed toward the place where this all happened. When we got to where he came ashore there was evidence of a huge splash (now frozen) and his train in off the water. When we examined the moving flow with our binoculars we could see the place where he entered the water and crossed.
The story made the news and now every winter they hold contests (over shallow water) to see who can go the furthest and fastest on a snow machine traveling over open water.
