Wish I was there

Lurking the forums in a pity party. We are supposed to be out in the RV as I type. Instead, I am laying here with the flu, hubby is scheduled for 2nd knee surgery in a couple of days and dealing with contractors /insurance companies because our neighbor drove his Chevy into my kitchen.
New job with lots of travel really limits my time off.
Ok. Enough whining. It is an absolutely gorgeous day here on the Oregon Coast. Hubby assures me that we will be able to make some long weekends in about a month.
We are also planning a longer trip this autumn. Going through the Umpqua and Willamette valleys to check out wineries and back down the coast and visit as many lighthouses as we can.

So other than the flu what is the issue? Could have had the measles.

New kitchen sounds like a dream. Hopefully new appliances, floor and cupboards. Have that granite top updated or installed.

DH will be a lot happier with the new knee. Mr Grumpy replaced by Ray of sunshine.

Sounds like you are enjoying new job other than time off. New places to visit and new people to meet.

I feel your pain, We both had the flu during the Holidays and I just had my second shoulder surgery on Monday, so it's been about a week so far but I'm still on heavy pain meds as well as the ice machine pretty much 24/7. I did everything around the house and on the MH I could prior to the surgery knowing it will be at least 4-6 months before I can use my left arm. The surgery I had on my right shoulder took 1 year of recovery/therapy but that was a total reconstruction.

The MH is sitting outside all ready to go, and I'm hoping I can drive it somewhere close in the next 2-3 months just to get out. I was reading the paper today and they were talking about baseball spring training starting next week, but I know we'll miss that this year. And our West Coast weather isn't helping, it's beautiful outside, maybe if was cold and rainy we wouldn't be missing getting out in the MH..So we are in the "Pity Party" too, and living our RV'ing life right now thru IRV2. Good luck and I hope your husband has a speedy recovery.

Wow Gordon, you sound like my wife. She is always upbeat about stuff like this and looks at the positive side of everything, just a little hard for me right now as there is no way to get comfortable. But she does keep me excited about using the MH and she keeps telling me that it's all set up and we don't have to go buy one this year, we got the flu out of the way, we just need to get in the MH and go when I feel well enough to. You know how to break up a "pity party", good job, you even made me feel better...take care ....Mike

Hey Mike;
Got to keep the spirits up. Helps the healing - so they say. Maybe you don't have to buy a new MH but you can look and plan for places to take it. Generally the more I look the more satisfied I become with what I have. The pain will go away as time goes on. Yay for drugs!

DW has been waiting for a hip replacement. We have an April 6 date for the surgery. This is the fourth surgical date she has had.

Numerous setbacks to overcome. Pulmonary embolism a month before the date postponed it for 6 months, cancer surgery (diagnosis 5 days before surgery) have postponed surgery again. We have to go to hip school as part of the pre-surgery. I think I will teach it this time! LOL Add some spice to the presentation.

I have become chief cook and bottle washer. Not difficult at all once you get going. Planning is the tough part but I pick what I want to cook and cook it the way I want to. I am practising grilling, smoking and making my own rubs and sauces.

Take care of the shoulder. Keep the cold on it and do the exercises physio gives you. Soon you will be on the road. Hope to see you somewhere out there.

I had both knees replaced and have since hiked all over the Country and walk three miles every morning.
