Government agencies are a public resource drain in general. They may gather some revenue through fines and application fees but their costs are expected to be taxpayer-financed.

So....what is this thread about???????
Is it that folks don't mind subsidizing, say, the Department of Commerce for business interests, but object to subsidizing the delivery of a first class letter for John Q. Public?

We all know what it's about. Another gubbament is good gubbament is bad circle pie X 3.14 that masquerades as somehow being about RVs or RVing. You could put the sum total of RV related words on a postage stamp and read it from across the room. NONE

Yeah...I know!
Say...let's talk about a real U.S. Postal Service Scandal:
How come Sweden has an "RV" postage stamp but we don't?

I could swear I've seen some camper stamps in the past, I remember one featuring an Airstream when I was a kid but that was long ago and could have been anything.
Zazzle has some, not that I've ordered them before or know they are legit but would be great for holiday wishes.

The title of the forum is; "Just Conversation", which opens the door to all kinds of discussions that go well beyond pure RVing and that is OK as long as we stay within the iRV2 rules.

Question was - what's the post about. I thought I summed it up as did Francesca. Wasn't suggesting it wasn't within the rules as I don't make those calls - and glad of it! But we've all seen the obligatory RV tossed into similar conversations to keep from crossing the therotical tipping point. I have a hard time figuring how the politics and some other rules are applied but I'm fairly new. I didn't take a position so no position to defend. Maybe I should have used a sarcastic smiley as no intent to offend here. I like a good debate.
Steve - Annie had nuthin to do with this post!
