I run Fire Fox also to get away from the "long load in" from IE. I also have seen NO ads on the Irv2 forum pages. Only those that are related to the forum (along the header) show. Some, I assume, are rotating from the forum sponsors.
Safe travels...

Back in 2003 I was part of a business which advertised via Google ads. Our business did online commerce through an online store. If I recall correctly we would pay Google a set amount...say $1,000. Google tracked "exposures"..the number of people who visited a page in which the ad was displayed...and "clicks" the number of times a visitor visited our e-commerce site via an ad. The exposure rate was ridiculously low...forget accurately but something like $.01/100 or perhaps even per 1000. The "click" rate though was very high...$.25 per click back then.
Since then..if I see an ad I find offensive and the possibility exist for me to "click" and ring their meter..well...I do. Time and time again.
Just saying.

Reason I ask is that my awesome father-in-law, 32 yrs service (1941-1973), retired MCPO, uses that term quite a bit....

BTW, I really get a kick out of your sea stories thread. Keep em comin.

By the time this gets sorted out it will be past the elections so we shouldn't have to see or not see the political adds for a couple years. Yeah

Is it possible that Rick is getting barraged by political ads on TV and just wants to vent but knows it is not permissible here?

I too am sick of the ads and if it were not for DVR, mute and fast forward could not watch much network TV.

Thanks it works great!

I have an update to my post #13 above. I have seen my 1st political ad. It's in the Ads by Google section at the top of the page above the Mission Statement. As a matter of fact, it's up there right now. I can't figure out why it appeared because I haven't been on any political sites, nor have read, to my knowledge, any political threads other than this one.

I understand the ad is not controlled by nor a creation of iRV2, so I'm just gonna chalk it up to the season & move on.

How is it one careless match can start a forest fire but it takes a whole box to start a campfire?
