I could only wish but San Francisco was a long way from Woodstock for a 19 year old student. I'll bet you have great memories..... on second thought... maybe not.

John,
I was caught up in a 12 mile traffic jam! Everyone was outside of their
cars and just hanging out. Lots of guitars, bongos and various musical
instruments. We had out own Woodstock right on the NY state thruway.
We finally arrived at the concert site at 3am!

Nope -- in Vietnam in Aug 69, "Thank God"! Had no use for those folks! Guess we all had something to be proud of during those turbulent times for our Country.

Thanx for your service to our country. In my small rural village in Indiana, we welcomed all returning service men (as we felt responsible to do).
I personally feel that the 70's were a decade of bad choices: hair, clothes, music, politicians, etc.

I wanted to go but at 16 with my own car, my parents, of course, gonged the concept. In retrospect, might have been a good call, but sure would have been great to be there.
