I've needed that on more than one occasion. First thing I do when we park is make it my "home address"; never lost the 5er since.
As for names, only first names are entered, I know who is who.

Good advice Seajay. I'll pay you my dime when I see you at the National Rally (but only if you'll take a credit card & check my I.D. ) We do not even have our home address in our GPS. Even when we enter it to find our way home from somewhere, we delete it from the previous destinations listing once we arrive. Since our GPS is not integrated in the dash, it'd be an easy item to pilfer if someone broke into the car & then all that info would be available to the thief.

If ya want to talk about protecting your home address info, just how many of you put that info in your profile here & have allowed it for all to see?

Thanks for the info, don't have to worry though. I just use the advertisement cards they send in the mail. Name on the card is usually John Q Public or valued customer not one clerk has asked for ID yet, now if I could figure out the PIN I could use ATMs as well. Sure feel bad for Mr. Public and Mr Customer.

Been doing the See ID for years, about the only one who ever asks for ID on credit cards is Walmart. Been in line when IDIOTS get upset for being asked for their ID, I usually beat the cashier to the answer by telling the I that it is for their protection.

However, if you use a card that says CID and provide positive ID they will not accept it. Go figure!
With logic like that, it's no wonder they are going broke.

Good advice on the GPS. I don't think mine lists my address but will check and delete if necessary.

I just have the "City Center" programed into my gps. I figure once I get into my town I know where I'm going.

I just have my zip code in my gps as home address.( just have to remember to turn of the voice notification when we get off the freeway going to the storage lot)

On all of our Credit Cards we have "ask for I.D." after our signature, we were in a restaurant in Gardnerville,NV @ the Carson Valley Inn RV park and Casino. We had finished our meal and the waitress took my CC she came back and asked to see my Drivers License, on that entire trip she was the only one to ask for ID and by the way she got a big tip. We were traveling for a little less than 6 weeks.

Also,,,,,,, On the back of your credit cards there is a place for your to sign the card. DO NOT SIGN THE CARD. Instead write.... SEE PHOTO I.D. and if you lose your wallet or it gets stolen the credit card will be harder to use because their photo i.d. will not match the card.

Be nice to a vet..... They volunteered to die for you if necessary...
think about it.......
see my Blog at .... My Life as I remember it and other boaring stuff

That is not worthless information, but you NEED to Sign the back of your CC/DEBIT cards, the merchant is not supposed to accept them if they are not signed and or just say ask for ID.
My wife has a business and that's part of the rules she gets from the credit card processing company.
Also another point did you know taht is against Federal Banking Regulations to charge a fee for using a CC/ATM-Debit Card? I was talking to the IRS about a form we had to complete and the man told me of the regulation he also read it to me so how do the gas stations and or Carl's Jr. or any other restaurant or business, get away with doing that.

Thanks for the heads-up on the GPS. I"m going to fix that right away. I sign my CC but also write CK ID on it as well. I love it when they turn it over, look at it, and hand it right back to me without a word. I am old and grumpy enough now that I usually ask the clerk "did you read the back of that card?" They then turn it over and really read it this time, and ask for my ID.

One time in the grocery store I seldom visit I was really feeling ornery. As usual the clerk handed me my card back after looking at the back. I took it without saying a word, put it in my wallet and started to push the cart with my $250's worth of groceries, out of the store. I turned to the clerk and said 'thanks for not reading the back of that card I gave you. It has 'Check ID' on the back and It's not mine'. I just kept walking toward the door. I guess the young guy called the manager because he met me just outside the door and questioned me. I thanked him for checking because if it was my lost or stolen card he might have just saved me some money and trouble. We did the card and ID thing. The manager thanked me and we went our separate ways. I've only done that once but have been temped several other times.

Now to find the Tom Tom and fix my names and addresses.
