First things I learned when I went into the Army; never volunteer for anything and walk around with a clipboard in one hand. Nobody ever questions you; they're afraid of getting stuck with what ever job you are working on.

If you didn't learn that by the third phase of basic you would be condemned to live out the rest of MCRD in the PIT.

Why I joined the Navy and Not the Marines
1) Third generation Navy (Dad in Korea, Navy Corpsman), (Grandfather In WWII, Merchant Marine, Lost at sea)
2) Navy gets the girls, watch On the Town with Gene Kelly
3) 3 hots and a cot, never once in 10 years did I sleep in a muddy foxhole or call c-rats a meal.
4) Better looking uniforms, liberty cuffs rolled up, white tilted over one eye with wings pulled in the sides. This is a big part of number 2 above.

Why I joined the Army
1) Guaranteed training of choice
2) Join and train with a buddy from home
3) Fa$t rank; only took 15 month$ in to make E5(Sgt)(Cousin was in the AF for 4 years and only made E4)(Cpl)
4) It only took 3 years to make a man out of me

Took one month to make a man out of me and three months to make a Marine out of me.

All kidding aside... Thanks to all who served!

Actually, it only took about 5 minutes after I got on the plane to basic. First time away from mommy, so to speak.

I remember going to a Best Buy store and using a credit card for the purchase. They refused to accept it because I had put "see ID" on it. The manager said if I would sign it, he would accept it. So I did. So they checked my card signature against the sales receipt that I signed after they accepted the card. The signatures matched and they were satisfied. (How could they be so brilliant!)

I've heard of that before. Get this: If your picture license is expired, the banks won't except them as picture ID, for even a notary. Hello... My license expired, not me; the guy in the picture?

Yep. The cardholder agreement requires the card to be signed to be valid.
