Would You accept this check?

Self Explanitory - wonder if it is true and if so was it cashed - so funny - at least the person tried. Better to have written the amount in thier native toungue. I would think a check written in Spanish would be fine - Why not but "six hunnit fiddy" what a hoot.

I've heard banks are pretty lax on spelling, and this does stretch the word lax to it's full extent. But hey, we understand it means $650.

Yea, why not accept it, as long as the digits indicate $650 but banks really do "check" these things.

I hope they did accept it.

Sure, I'd accept it ..... unless I had to give up something worth six hunnit fiddy dollars to get it!

I once properly made out two checks to pay two bills, put ;'em in the wrong envelops and mailed them off to the wrong companies... They both cleared, no problem. Three different banks failed to notice the company endorsment was different from the company they were made out to. And they were either typed or block printed in the PAY TO field.

Anybody notice the wording in the lower right corner?
Looks like "this is not a negotiable instrument.

Yes you are correct - it is sooo obvious I overlooked that when I first saw it.

I think that check was from the Loch Ness Monster who got tired of asking for just 3 fiddy.

For those who have never watched South Park, it is a repeating gag about the father of one of the main characters who goes around telling everybody these outlandish stories about running into the Loch Ness monster who keeps trying to fool him into giving him 3 fiddy.

Years ago my Dad, when paying his bills, got tired of writing out "Southwestern Bell Telephone" as the bill said to make the check out to. So one month he just wrote Southwestern Bell. Of course the check went through just fine, so the next month he just wrote S. W. Bell. Again no problem. The next month he wrote Bell. All good. The next month he drew a picture of a phone receiver with a coiled cord. No problem. Just thought it was kind of funny.

Another example of the dumbing down of America. Even if that it a gag, let's face it people actually talk like that. Very sad.

I thought banks were required to go by the written out numbers not the numeric digits so this check should have been rejected.
But that was Business Law in the 60's too.

My wife always paid the bills and wrote the check.
One day I wrote a check because I forgot my wallet, the bank rejected it and noted "Do not recognise signature"
