So I was at the Grand Sierra Resort having sushi with some friends. Next thing we noticed, is a group of 6 or 7 people taking a spot at a large table across from us.

One of them is the famous rocker Elvis Costello. (Now I know the majority here probably has never heard of him, but suffice it to say, he's one of my favorite entertainers).

Our group was debating whether or not to go over to their table immediately AFTER THEY HAVE ORDERED THEIR FOOD and the server was on the way to the kitchen, and grabbing a quick picture with the superstar.

In the end, we all chickened out and decided it was better NOT to have bothered him.

So my question: If you saw a celebrity who you have admired at a restaurant (say Johnny Cash or Bon Jovi or Robert DeNiro or insert-your-celebrity-here), would you go ahead and ask for a pic ? (Provided they were NOT eating and were just waiting for their food....)

(BTW, the title of the poll should be "WOULD you ask a celebrity for a picture with you?" Tried to correct it, but was unsuccessful....)

I never would ask anybody. During my lifetime I met many VIP's, but never ask for a pix. I'm not shy, but I would not bug them.

Think: How would you feel if "everyone" thought you are a selebrity and starting making pictures of you and company and ask for signatures. ???
Yes, they are VIPs but only when they perform.

Gerard.

Yes, depending on the surroundings and situation. I definitely would not interrupt their meal for a picture. However, I could wait outside for them to pass by and ask.

Yes I would... but would pick my spot. I never got into the autograph thing... although I did get Bing Crosby's once when he came into my gas station asking directions.

I have photos on the wall of my garage of me with Jim Lovelle and Frank Borman... Apollo astronauts... and another of DW and I with Story Musgrave... shuttle astronaut.

I wouldn't . I might say hello & if they are friendly Like when I met comedian, Louie Anderson at a gas station , we had a little chat, shook hands, wished each other a good night & that was it.

Forget Declan, ("Elvis"), but if his amazing super hot wife was there, I'd definitely approach her...

No, try to give everybody their space, and might hurt my feelings to be snubbed by a 'has been.'
