Yellowstone is an amazing place. Make sure you take some time to do some research in advance. Two areas that I'd suggest are the history of the Caldera (there are actually 3 of them, if I remember correctly) and the locations of the major attractions. If you are like us, you won't have time to see everything and you'll want to pick the sights that interest you the most. There are some out of the way things like the Virgin Cascades that are really worth knowing about.

We stayed in Fishing Bridge and did day trips to the other areas. You could spend 3 weeks there and not see it all.

Unfortunately I can't stay at Fishing Bridge since my coach is 45ft long. So we will be staying at a CG outside the west gate.

I understand about 45' and Fishing Bridge. There were a couple of really long 5ers there when we were there and the park had cones out in front of them, on the road, because the nose of the 5er was sticking out onto it. I sure wouldn't be comfortable parking like that. We stuck out far enough.

We were there toward the end of August '07. Frost one morning. Crystal clear skies...however, we were there a week...did the park in 1/4s....and still could have spent more time there!

Grizzly RV Park --great cg in W. Yellowstone, Montana.

Grizzly RV is exactly where we are planning on staying....We've had to back up our dates a month due to work, but that might be a good thing..(Hopefully)...I'm hoping that the weather will be better in June vs May.
