1972 converter or conv/charger?

I was wondering if anyone knew if in my 1972 wayfarer, my converter was a converter and a charger or just a converter. theres only one switch, it says Batt or Conv Thats it. its the original converter. is it common back then to just have a converter and not the dual purpose? can i easily swap it for a charger as well?

Sounds like your talking about one of the real old Progressive Dynamics units. See if one of the PD-6XX series manuals I have listed below visually match what you have.
Daves Place - RV Electrical Systems

I also have old versions of other brands listed on that page so you might get lucky and find what your looking for.
