The engine cover on our 1975 Dodge Minni Winni Winnebago cracked.
I can repair it but I was wondering, it looks, smells, and tastes like asbestos. Do you think it is?
I know that if asbestos is sealed it is safe and I plan to make the repairs (sheet metal and pop rivets) and then paint the entire unit.
But I am curious, is it asbestos?
BTW, I'm just joking about it smelling and tasting like asbestos.

I suppose it's possible(but unlikely) the cover may be insulated with asbestos, but it would not be made of asbestos.
