Good morning/day all. May you have a peaceful Easter weekend.
Son and I going to have the CO2 tank filled (Powertank 5lb) so we can get the rv off the stands and drive her home for some inspection.
I will have to point and give directions since I'm on the bench, which makes for some good father-son bonding and learning.
Stay tuned!Click image for larger version

I HATE not being able to do what I need to do! Got a bad heart & other health issues so I can't get into places like the one I need to get into to repair my busted water line. My son wants to use the coach in a couple weeks when he goes to work at the Talladega Speedway & says he'll fix it, but he drives a tow truck & is on call until 2 days before he needs to leave here with it. I guess if he doesn't get it done they can drink bottled water & use the track restrooms.......Happy Easter to you & yours!

There is a bill at the state capitol (between a filing cabinet and the microfiche device) that moves the current 1974 and older exemption to 1980. The logic is that there are so few of these left on the road in relation to newer vehicles, that regulating them is cost prohibitive.
One of these comes up every so often and I do not hold my breath.
I have a 1979 Trans Am (my wife and I dated in that sucker in the 80's) in my garage that I would like to upgrade but even though it is a federal emissions car without a smog pump, I can't change anything without going through a referee.
My wife and I can't bring ourselves to move out of state.
[emoji31]
And thats the way Ca thinks. Sorry. We have exemptions here. But we have less people here.

Got the rig in one piece. However, The temp gauge didn't have a reading until two blocks away from my house. This of course meant the gauge or sender was faulty or God forbid there was no water reaching the sender due to low or no coolant! The last time I saw the RV was right before my emergency surgery, so Lord only knows what might have happened. Given my condition I pressed on. I noticed right before I pulled in the driveway that the temp jumped up to about 160. [emoji848] It ran fine and didn't boil over, so I'll have to get Scooby Doo on this mystery.
I took some pics of the EGR because the kids at my local O'Reilly's will have no clue what it is. I'm having some trouble locating a replacement on the web.
I may also look for ccegr valve and TIC valve.
More to come.
Happy Easter all!

I think you're missing a spring! What motor you got in there? I can't tell from your photos.

And about that spring, I added an extra one when I discovered that the stock springs would not return the throttle back from wide open. [emoji15]

Springs might have a chance to help if they were put on the throttle linkage and not the shaft? WTH?

Wait a minute...are you saying they don't go there? [emoji38] They've always been like that so when I removed the carb for rebuild I put them back the same way.
Not surprised. Looks like I need some pics of the correct arrangement.

Hmmm, every pic and diagram I've seen so far has the springs attached this way.
I know it's difficult to tell from the pic, but the shaft shown is not the one attached to the throttle plates.

Thought I re
cognized it! I had the same motor & spring assortment in my '79 Superior. My Dad gave me his old '84 Dodge 2wd short wheelbase pickup, & I've had thoughts of pulling that 440 motor & tranny out & building me one more hot rod........like I need another project!

Guardrail53, what his photo shows is not the shaft. Where the springs are hooked is a stud the passing gear linkage rides on. It screws into the carb linkage about where the springs are hooked in your pretty motor photo.
