1987 HR coolant fan rattle

Their is a rattle coming from behind the side mounted radiator. It is a cat diesel on a gillag chassis. I looked behind the radiator from underneath and could see just a small amount of oil around the fan shaft. Is the rattle normal? It has not overheated yet.

I have an '86 CC with the same engine/chassis, and it rattles. I can't find anything wrong with it!
