I have a 89 Triple E A class with a ceiling problem (water stains ) Before I tear into this I'm wondering if i am dealing with wood or aluminum rafters if the problem is serious .

A belated " Welcome to irv2 " first post I see , and apparently the pictures didn't come trough.
My 05 , EEE 5th wheel was wood truss, not sure about class A's.
Factory still operational , producing Super B. s so you could phone, or just pull down a vent trim and look around with a mirror.

Skip Thanks for the quick reply . Going down to Harrison Hot Springs today to my cousins . He is a jack of all trades and we are going to tear the ceiling out and replace it with luan panels or FRP . Water stains on fabric ceiling would be a pain to clean . I have no doubt I am about to open a can of worms but can't let fear or common sense hold you back .

You, have to be sure the leak is fixed , if they are water stains.
Many , myself included, have issues with the glue used to hold the fabric in place showing through, and collecting dirt.
Cleaning; can be done with a strong solution of hydrogen peroxide ,may take several treatments, spray on and let dry.

The leak is fixed but the fabric liner is also sagging and she who must be obeyed says put up something she can wipe clean . Happy Wife Happy Life . I will post when I get further into this potential disaster .
