3 way fridge operation and maintenance

I have a 1980s camper with a working 3 way, i have had it plugged into the outlets in my shop for about a month and suddenly started popping the gfi breaker of the outlet it was plugged into. i narrowed it down to the fridge that was doing it, so I shut it off and let it thaw overnight. turned it back on this morning and seams to be running fine again. could this be due to ice build up in freezer, is it any thing i should be worried about? i have still yet to figure out if the 12 volt works for i have no power coming to it,

The GFCI tripping was undoubtedly caused by moisture, which was probably caused by the ice build up.
I wouldn't worry about it.
BTW, few 30A campground receptacles have GFCI protection, (however 15A and 20A receptacles often do).
