Talking '83 Winnebago Warrior, Building the Hot Rod RV...

I'm taking a vintage Winnebago Warrior and building a multi use rig, along the way I'm going to apply hot rodding techniques and some technology to build what I want from this.

The PO was an RV tech that has done some work on it to fit his needs, in the rear he fit an axle out of a 1 ton Suburban but didn't upgrade the front.

While the rear tires of choice might have been fine for him I'm not a fan of the mismatch, and the 8R19.5's are heavy, I couldn't put one on a spare tire carrier if my life depended on it.
So let's get to work.

1 ton conversion with Belltech 3' drop spindles.

In the rear I'm doing a disc brake conversion (waiting on some parts, will post pics when I can) in the meantime, lets look at the rear tires.

The 8R's are a full 3" taller than the 215-85-16's going on (when the 215's are worn I'll change up to 245-75's) and they weigh 110 lbs with the rim, the 215' weigh in at 70 lbs.

What a difference, this is just the start. the rig currently has a 350 with a TH400 drivetrain. next time I'll talk about the new engine and trans.
Cheers Beers n gearz, Joe

If you REALLY want a hot rod mh, I have an 800+hp CTS-V LSA with a TR6060 6 speed that would drop right in that rig. lol.
