85 southwind wiring

I was sent a PDF 7 pages of wiring diagrams, well actually , elevations. I looked over them while at same time comparing to my rigs and there are a few things that are opposite of what I have. I guess I should have mentioned that something had killed a fully charged engine battery in a matter of only 5-10 min. So I figured either a dead short or wires are not correct. The guy I bought the rig from had disconnected the batteries and put in his shop and upon re-installing he couldn't remember how to connect and he just put wires wherever! Not very bright this one, but he and his wife are two of the best people you ever want to meet! Anyway, one battery is beyond destroyed by this and one I on charger to see if he will live. The third, the engine battery is fine. Can I connect using only the two instead of three temporarily to use the built in charger on the rig while I'm on city power? And if I can someone explain how?
