86 Eleganza!

Here is my 86 Eleganza!

Everything seems to work... resealing the roof... and new floors and walls inside. Replaced all the lights with led... it has air bags...

I do have a few questions...
Can I paint the rubber skin over the outside.. ??
The manual says it has a special alternator, charges fine but whines kinda loud..(manual says it's does)... is that normal?

Novitus,

She is a beauty! Love these older rigs, they were made well and with all that are still out there they have proven themselves to last. Look forward to seeing your roof when it is done. Little love, little care, and you will have a great rig!

WOW, that roof looks great!

I just washed mine today and could not believe how dirty it was. Bet you won't have any leaks with that for a long time to come. Good work and looking forward to seeing what else you do to this rig so please post your progress.

This will be a rig that you and the fiancÚ will have a lot of fun with. Lynne

Novitus,

Pretty sure that thing is well sealed right now but might as well hit it with a second coat to make sure. I have been told they need to be checked for cracks in caulking twice a year and in checking mine this year found several cracks in the caulk that I sealed.

The work seems like a lot at first but when done then it is play time. You're getting closer to that already. There is an attachment you can get at Camping World for your antenna. It is a HD TV attachment. We added one yesterday. Super easy to add and is supposed to help get more channels and better picture quality. I will let you know. With your bat wing antenna you could add one if you wanted to. With a new digital flat screen TV we have gotten between 12 and 47 channels depending on where the CG is located. They run about $25 to add on.

Please keep posting when you have done more, I am enjoying your work.

Lynne

Looking good, we have a 82 PA but not the Eleganza. I plan on doing the same to my ceiling. Aot lot of the wall paper that was on the paneling looks terrible, so I'm just going to take it off.
