87 Alumilite XL need a thermostat housing

I was wondering if anyone had an 87 Rambler Alumilite XL with a 454 thermostat housing available for sale. GM Part# 14087346. Or any suggestions of someplace that might.

I inherited an 87 Rambler Alumilite and have put a new mechanical fuel pump on and now I need a new thermostat housing.
Once we got it started it got warm quickly, no circulation. Figured thermostat... Took housing off and the housing was completely cramed full of this yellow waxy stuff that took a chisel to get it all out. We noticed immediately that a good portion of the neck of housing was eaten away and upon further checking there is a hole in it. GM no longer makes the housing and we have tried 4 different ones. None work due to all the plumbing/ vac lines etc. Summit Racing patiently stayed on the phone for an hour trying to help me find one to no avail.

Thank you in advance for your help.

Seems like it should still be available, what exactly doesn't work with the ones you're finding?

The thermostat housing on pre 1991 motorhome p30's were specific to that model,so there is no new exact replacement. Dorman makes a housing that it lists as fitting.#902-2034 The shape is a bit different and the port for the vacuum switch is at a different angle but the radiator hose nipple is vertical . Might try that one if not you will be haunting junk yards for one.

A search of NAPA's webpage for a 87' P30 thermostat housing with a 454 brought up part number BK 6051206 which looks like a match I think (except for the angle of you sensor).

If you had to chisel it off how long has the old engine coolant been in there? I would do a flush for sure.

I'm betting the old antifreeze is breaking down and is probably acidic too. You can get test strips to check the quality of you antifreeze at most part stores.

You might just have to go with a substitute if you can.
