New member of the forum. I've got a1989 coachman class A on a Ford/John Deere/Oshcosh chassis. I have read several forums about the parking brake not engaging. I have the opposite issue, mine will not dis-engage. I believe that mine is the electric version as I do not have the manual dis-engage cable. I guess that my question is, how can I get this thing to dis-engage so I can get it up to the shop to work on it? I also need to get it up in the yard to get it ready for company in a few weeks.

Any help would appreciated.

I'm not aware that an electrical version existed. Look at the manual and other files on my server 89 JD files. The manual is nearly 400mb, a large file. As far as I know the hydroboost pump also disengages the parking park via a slave cylinder and linkages. Freightliner is the current owner of the chassis design & parts. They have been helpful providing parts to me in the recent past.

Great! Thanks for the reply. I had read in another post somewhere that a few had an electric version of the parking brake. I will definitely look at those as soon as I get back to my PC. If it ever stops raining, I'll get back to the coach and crawl underneath and verify a few things.
