I didn't realize it at the time, but the Extend-a-Stay I added to my Gulfstream a few years back only accepted the original propane bottle types with the female connector on the tank. Does anyone know if there is an adapter I can get to change over or am I stuck with purchasing a new hose?

Thanks
T

Hi

Does your extend-a-stay's male end look like this?
That fitting does plug in to any tank- the female threads are still on the inside of the newer "outside-thread" ANSI tankfitting.

There is indeed an adapter but.. you already have it.

The ACME connector (the one with the external threads) on most LP tanks, is also threaded to take the Prest-O-Lite (POL) connector from the old days.

Check your tank, odds are the hose you have fits.

IF it does not both RV stores and your local Propane wholsaler will have the proper adapter.. I think I have one too.

Thanks for the replies. It is the hose that I have questions about and since I'm home for the weekend I can check more today.

Several years ago I checked on the price of an extend-a-stay at Camping World. The campground owner's son-in-law worked for a LP company and he said he would make me one for half price and install it himself. He said his LP company stocked every part needed. He measued the distance from my LP tank, out under the slide, and to where the 100 pound LP tank would set and made the hose the correct length. And his price was half of what Camping World charged.
