So your Genny looks like this ? If so you have a self contained unit.
Then you have a starting circuit on the control box as well as one up in the coach, and neither will start unless you tap the control box ?
PM me your e-mail and I'll send a manual which includes trouble shooting the control box as that's where your problem is.

If you don't get it figured out go to smokestack.com. There are a bunch of sharp onan guys there.

Yep, that's just like mine and when it don't crank neither the main switch or either of the remote switches will work. Yesterday I wanted to chase wires while it was acting up & it cranked every time I touched it. You know how hard it is to fix something when it's not broke? Your manual would be a BIG help! I haven't learned how to do PMs on this board so here's my email addy. fourmilemorgans@outdrs.net Many thanks for the help from all!

Some solenoids have the base as the ground, rust never sleeps.

Sounds to me a ground issue.

Thanks to the manual my new HERO sent me I'm going to trace all the circuits & grounds tomorrow. Right now everything is working perfectly, and you know how hard it is to fix something that ain't broke!
