Smile Any Owners of 1995 Winney Luxor 37WQ out there

New Member simi retired small ship captain with visions of traveling the country till I CAN'T TRAVEL NO MORE!!! Not the most computer literate person in the discussions. Looking for some owners of the same great RV I just bought and am in the process of restoring the few items that need a little TLC.

Welcome to irv2 ! Not many of those were made, kind of a rare bird. Heck, I still have not seen another Vectra Grand Tour like mine in person yet, but I did consider a Luxor before I found the Vectra.

Thanks for the reply this RV is perfect for my wife and I to see the US. we are really looking forward to some long deserved retirement time. Yes the Luxor is just what I have been looking for, the interior is been well taken care of and after a few modifications we should be quite comfortable. I’ll have to check out the Vectra.

They had a lot of similarities in layout and construction. Depending on the year some of the Luxor's had high gloss exteriors and a few had all wheel steering. The vectra was not as long and had a few less HP if I remember.

Yes I have just finished looking at a few Vectra's and the similarities are quite alike. The engine is the big difference with the Luxor's mostly having the 8.3 turbo Cummins 300 HP and the torque @ 850 ft. pounds they don't hesitate to pull a grade without pushing the pedal for overdrive and the leather up front is nice also. Thanks for the heads up I saw one of the Vectra's had the bigger engine and would probably perform great.

Yeah, the Vectra of the era was the 6bt engine, but with air ride and the 6 speed its a decent fit. I would love to have that 8.3 on a non-slide glossy Luxor, those were really a neat rig.

I have always been Mr. fixit but I'm getting a crash course in RV. Thank goodness the results will be worth the labor of love. You know from outward appearances they both look almost the same. The gel coat on top needs another coat maybe 5 or 6 mils and the sides need a few places to be wet and dry sanded and a new clear coat and she will really look good.

Was the Luxor full body paint or gel coat in your year? The vectra is only gelcoat, so I don't have any clear and fight oxidation constantly. Post pics.
