Been looking for an older RV to do a rolling resto on and have found a motivated seller of a 78' Shasta 25' w/Ford 351 motor. I've done some Mustang resto so I'm kind of comfortable with the drivetrain aspect but pretty clueless about the Home part.

I'd love a link or a checklist of what to look for especially if year/model specific.

There are already a couple of concerns that have come up. Current owner says that the refrig and overhead A/C don't work because the regulator for the generator is bad? He said he was driving with the a/c running and apparently the generator ran out of gas and caused the problem-sounds odd to me.

Any advice would be appreciated so I can avoid a mistake.

The refrigerator and a/c should still work on shore power. You can check them out that way. I don't see why the generator running out of gas would make them not work. They would just shut down, just as they would, if the rig was unplugged, or there was a power failure.
I am with you, it doesn't sound logical. Maybe if the rest of the unit suits you, you can make an offer that would offset the cost of a new a/c and fridge (Two of the most expensive things)
