Decal removal

Started taking off the decals, Used a scraper, and heat gun to start, then the eraser wheel.
The decals have been painted over, so instead of just using the eraser, I heat gunned the decals off, and then used the eraser for the glue remaining.
The mandrel cost 2.50, and the erasers were 8.50 each, and I used one eraser for the side. I expect to need 3 total,
The erasers are not the 3m brand as they run 20+ bucks apiece.

Once you have the decal off, use thinner and a rag to remove the sticky goo. Then use soap and water. Instead of straight lines you can incorporate some curves to cover the shadows and cover some white. Maybe let your kids or grandchildren use their imaginations to design a new pattern and color scheme on paper.

Call me a stick in the mud if you like, but I'd keep it original if possible. Assuming it was something I would have purchased originally anyway. I think that Winnie looks sharp....

I like the OEM look, but have other ideas.
Deviating from OEM at this age, niether helps or hurts value.
It tend to keep my cars OEM. Motorcycles, my ultralight and such things tend to get changed and individualized.

I am consideraing a white, or tan base with paws prints all over it.
I Am heavily involved in dog training, rehab, and rescue. Dog training paid for it; so, something dog-esk is in order.
I have a couple of other more conservative ideas, but like the paw print idea.

Got lucky on the left side, most of the decals had been removed and it Is mostly only paint. Still need at least one more eraser wheel.

Looks pretty junkie with the decals off, that gives me incentive to get on the body work, fix the delam, put some paint on it.

I am also looking at the plastidip for the paw prints, and stripes.
Hammered metal finish in maybe white strikes my fancy also.

I was so hoping for the thinner and rag glue lean up, but that was not to be the case, the glue was far too old and dried out, had to eraser wheel every speck of glue.
The glue just chuckled at me and the thinner.

Did you try acetone?

Doggy tracks arranged in shape and manner where they form a similar design as the original stripe? Something that might cause a double take as people notice?
