Harbor freight sells a detail sprayee that works great

Mix it thick and the pattern is small so better target and less runs

I've gone both routes. I had some decal stripes painted over with the same color. They were in decent shape and it turned out good. Then on other stripes that were a pale blue I had them removed and repainted gloss black. It turned out really nice but I think the paint shop had a hard time with getting a clean line with the small crackles in the faded fiberglass. New colors helped modernize my 2003 some.

Mine are the same..."all cracked and intact"(sounds like the name of a band). I am thinking about doing the same thing, painting over them and like twier's suggestion of the 1-Shot paints.

Besides, I really am not a Burgandy guy,
so making my stripes a black/brown/tan is a win win.

My decal/stripe is too far gone to paint over. They are very cracked all over. They are not peeling off, they are stuck in place and extremely hard to remove. I might try and hand paint with artist brush the SUN VOYAGER that is on both sides and front and rear cap. For some reason Gulfstream used better material on their decal than on the rest of the stripes. Go figure.

Have not been able to get back to MH to work on decal/stripe for a couple of weeks. Life got in the way. I have twin granddaughters due any day so probably waiting on that. I am sure it will be a hundred degrees when I can get back to it.
