Dometic toilet installation

Hey, My first post. I'm rebuilding a 61 Airstream Tradewind, starting to put things back in. I have a new Dometic Lite Sealand toilet and an adapter flange to use the old two bolt black tank flange. I'm building a box over the black tank for the toilet. My question - how far above the floor surface should the new flange be. It seems like it needs to be pretty flush in order for the toilet to sit flat on the floor and compress the new seal correctly but I've heard flush and completely above the floor. Thanks for any help.

When I put my toilet back in the gasket or flange was almost flush to the floor, it maybe stuck up a 1/2 in.
