Fall Avion Trailer Rally

Some of us in SE Texas are planning a rally for the silver Avions at Cagle Recreation Area at New Waverly, TX (just north of Conroe, TX),

The dates are 28 OCT 2011 through 30 OCT 2011.

So far we have 5 confirmed Avions and a couple of non-Avions coming in. I am in site 11 in the small SWGU (Sweetgum) loop. This a fantastic National Forest Service campground with water, sewer and 50 amp electric for $20.00 per night.

You have to go to the Cagle Recreation Area site and make your own reservations.....We do not have any sites reserved other than what you reserve for yourself.

It will be great to see a whole herd of silver trailers in the campground.

This event started out on the Avion Yahoo group.

We hope to see a few more silver trailers. The sites in that loop are going fast.

So far we have 5 Avions signed up plus a couple of more that will have to bring a large roll of aluminum foil and some duct tape so that that will fit in with the "LOOK".

We will plan to have a grill out (provide we do not still have a drought and a burn ban) where those that are there Friday evening will bring there own meat to grill and a side dish or desert to share.

Saturday morning, we can do an outdoor pot luck breakfast if every one wants to do that.

Saturday dinner, we will do a pot luck dinner. I will plan to smoke some chicken and sausage and maybe a brisket....again assuming no burn ban like they have now.

Sunday morning everyone is on their own.

Anyone else have any suggestions.

Ken

We will be there. Can't wait to see all the Avions and to go back to Cagle.

I had asked on the Silver Avion group for a confirmation of who was coming......I got 3 responses.... Since I am bring smoked chicken and smoked sausage, it sure is hard to determine how many we need to plan on. SOme folks may get hungry if they don't bother to respond.....

For Friday evening, everyone is on their own. We can all meet at my rig and sit out and eat what ever you bring. Since the park will not let you have propane stoves and grills, I'll bring my Coleman Roadmate grill, so we can grill burgers or what ever.

Breakfast Saturday you are on your own.

Saturday dinner is pot luck. Bring a veggie, salad or dessert to share with the others. We will meet at our site and have dinner about 6:00 PM.

We can get up a card game or domino game if you like Saturday afternoon.

Saturday evening is a sit, chat and visit around out NO-campfire.

This is mostly a weekend to just sit, chill, visit, fish if you have that inclination.

Ken and Ron, we have been waiting till this weekend to confirm our attendance for the Rally next week. Unfortunately it won't happen because of some family issues that can't be changed. We were looking forward to meeting fellow Avioners.

Till next time. Thank you for organizing the event. Hope we can do it next time.
