Is there any experience out there on replacing the particle board under the carpet and vinyl in the sandwich floor that Winnebago used. It seems that the floor consists of a sheet of gauge alum. then Styrofoam, then particle board that has disintegrated in spots. Can I just replace the particle board in those spots supporting it on the Styrofoam or do I have to somehow add bracing at those spots underneath? Any Ideas or related experience would be appreciated. Thanks

I'd think just to put a patch of particle board back into a spot you cut out would need a tie in to the surrounding intact particle board or it would be unsupported and depress into the foam board. You could try cutting it out at an angle to allow the replacement piece fit like the lid of a pumpkin. Use lot's of adhesive that you've tested so it won't eat the foam insulation.

Maybe you could call Winnebago tech support for advice. We had our flooring in our HiLo replaced by a flooring place. If you could find a flooring place or RV dealer that has experience with replacing floors they might be able to advise you. Best of luck with your repairs.

I don't remember what year it was but Winnebago and a whole bunch of floor problems, so I can only assume they have the knowledge on what to do. Will they share it with you, hard to say. Give them a call.
