Free RV Alert

I was browsing the online classified today and stumbled across this 1973 Midland RV Class A advertised as "Free"
Wonder what the catch is...

Nothing is free. They could make money by junking it. They can get a tax deduction by giving it to charity. Craigslist is full of scams. Be carefull.

More likely the owner has been paying storage fees and possibly insurance on it. Perhaps they finally realized it's a piece of junk and not worth "restoring". Probably simply want it to go away and stop the bleeding.

The "junkers" locally who will buy cars, trucks and scrap do NOT want any RVs. Too much carp to send to the dump (which costs $$) vs scrap value.

So maybe this outfit feels they're better off having an individual haul it off.

It looks like it's parked in an RV storage facility, wonder if it was abandoned there.
Possible lien sale?

did this a couple of years ago had a thirty ft southwind bought it to help out a buddy in a bind, got it dirt cheap, and got it out of his yard, wound up some family members moved into it one day without asking and all of sudden had we had boarders.
finally got them out, stripped off enough parts to make back my $500.00 and gave it away to keep any one else from camping in it again.
still had a ton of good parts but no scrap value as stated in and earlier post to much trouble for scrappers.
so it could be legit but more trouble then it's worth.

ps I keep my current mh in my shop under lock and key and keep it locked while in there, fool me once.

happy rving
