I used the generic equivalent of KY jelly on the last one I did. It has the additional advantage of being water-soluable and will not harm plastic.

By the way, changing these bags is a real bear. There ARE after-market heavy-duty springs available that will do away with the need for the bags. Try Hendrickson, I believe.
