Sorry, but urethane caulk is not a substitute, rather it is the only
correct product for setting and sealing windshields. Silicone is a temporary substitute and a poor one at that. The windshield flexes slightly as you travel down the road and the silicone will pull loose. Leak returns. Been there, done that, threw out all my silicone sealants for automotive uses.
