my dad who is the most honest humble man I know said he could get 10 mpg with his 28 foot chevy P30, now he drove pretty slow knowing him and still does at 86, not lying:cool

My shorty averaged 7.98 mpg over about 2500 miles going through the National Parks in California and southern Oregon this summer. Lots of 8000 ft climbs and 75+ on the highways between. I didn't have a toad so it was also transport in the parks.

With my 35' diesel powered coach I "can get" as many as 12 MPG, (and as few as 6 MPG), from a tankful of diesel fuel....however I have averaged 8.5 MPG... (over 121,000 miles).....121,000 (miles) divided by 14,235 (gallons of diesel fuel used) equals 8.5.

What was/is the average MPG your dad got/gets with his 28 foot chevy P30?

I couldn't tell you that and I doubt if he remembers that anymore but I'll ask.
