Gas vs diesel

We have a 1985 Winnwbago Chieftan and are wanting to upgrade. We have the opportunity to trade it in for $11,000 and pay $19,000 to get a diesel pusher Vogue of the same age. So, the question is, "Is it worth $19,000 to change to diesel?"

Condition of both Coaches factor in: how many miles you are going to be putting on these 85's also adds in.... are you towing?

If your coach is worth $11,000 on a trade and the new to you DP is $19.000 that makes the DP's price $30,000. $30K for a 30 year old coach brings a lot of questions. But a Vogue in that year range is a pretty cool looking rig. If it's not showing it's age too much and the past owners kept up on preventative maintenance it might be a good buy.

Had to let it go

We have the money for the RV but it's not in cash. So, we pulled our deposit. Once we have cash, we'll go hunting again.

Thanks everyone for the food for thought.

Darn few '85 diesels will bring 19k. If the 19k is in addition to the 11k they're giving you for your trade, that's very likely excessive. No matter condition.

30,000 way tooooo much for that no matter what condition. Nada says 10,500 average for a 37' DP, of course don't know what options that one has but, won't make that much difference. Glad you're looking elsewhere
