Generac Gen questions

My choke has been sticking closed or partially closed and today while troublshooting it we saw the choke soloniod was the issue, a liberal squirt of WD-40 and some wiggeling it in and out and it is freed up. Which leads me to a new problem.

I understand that during the start up the choke is energized and snaps closed and after the start it opens up. I was sitting there and watching it work and suddenly I noticed some wiffs of smoke coming from the area of the solonoid. I thought is was WD-40 and I wiped up all the residue but it keeps smoking in little wiffs, any thoughts??

next gen issue, I have two 30 amp breakers on the choke panel, the top one snaps on and off like a regular light switch, but the bottom one, if it is just barely touched it pops off and when reset it does not snap into position it just moves to ON with little or no resitance. I guess If I replace one I might as well do both of them, thoughts???

You could have the solonoid starting to short some and making the smoke or a wire arc and causing the smoke. The breakers I would change those you going to be in there change them both

I have not seen anymore wiffs of smoke so I guess it was just residual WD-40 that got on something hot. Got it re-assembled and it is running great. If I load it up too fast it pops that whimpy c/b, but for now it runs both ac units with no issues,,,,,,,yet.
It's onward, on to the next item on our remaining 20 items on our punch list

For now, swap breakers. The 'weak' one has been the most used, so is most likely the one powering most of your coach.

I swapped the breakers and it actually made it worse. If I go to the front ac and turn it on to fan, it runs when I switch it to ac it pops the breaker, the other way around I could run both ac units, now I cannot get one to run, must be a crappy connection somewhere or both breakers are weak. I never did fire up everthing in the coach and then shut the breakers to see what does what and I am not sure that is a good idea anyway
