Lynne, If you talk with the campsite there is a section called KAW it is by the lake and has spots for bigger rigs, it has water and electric, none of the sites have sewer hook up. we looked it over on Google earth and its by the lake and looks pretty good, they won't let you reserve only a year in advance.

I have Gordon's, Curtis's, and Frank's E-mail.

Terry, I will call to see if they will reserve a bigger block, see what we need to know and if there might be any issues. Don't know if each of us would have to reserve or if I can do it. Might give them a name and anyone giving that name needs to be put in that block. I will ask them what works best for them when we reserve.

Place looks very nice. I also looked at it but not through google earth. Will do that.

I will E-mail Curtis with the info and see how he is doing. Man, the guy must be busy. Anyone hear from Jay or have his E-mail or number?

Will get this done next week and post any info I have for all to see. Anything with names will be done through E-mail.

Lynne

Hi all y'all,

I might be able to go to this as I have a sort of half-assed plan to spend July in Ruidoso NM and then head over to southern Illinois in August, meaning I could stop off in Kansas if everything fits together. I can't commit but I'll monitor this thread and try to make it if I can.

BTW I don't really "travel" in my 6mpg RV, rather I "relocate" it from one area to another and explore the new area in my 25mpg Caravan. My RV is mechanically sound to the point where I could've driven it to Alaska, but at 6mpg or even 7mpg... No freakin' way!

Hello Gang,

E-mails and phone numbers coming in. Will get the info typed up and sent out so we can contact each other if needed. Otherwise, looks like there is a good amount of interest and we should be able to get this pulled together in the 15 months left before take off.

Thanks guys but I think this will be a great meet and greet. I am looking forward to it.

I also now know Rail's name. I'll let you know if I need any more info.

Checking on Kaw so we have longer camp sites for the longer rigs and just more room in general.

Hopefully I get my rig back by then. Cheesh! Lynne

Tim,

I don't think so so please send it PM to me and also the length of your rig and vehicles. I am also including phone numbers in this for any who want them included. This will only come out through E-mail so will be kept just between us on this thread.

Have a great one, looks like the sun is going to shine today. Yeeeehaaaa! It was 34 on Sunday,70 on Monday and only going up from here. I LOVE summer!

Hello Meet and Greet,

Talked with Lisa at Glen Elder State Park. Kaw CG often is rented or reserved for long time campers who reserve for 6 months at a time. There are only 18 spots is this area so it will depend on how many spots are reserved and how many we need.

We cannot reserve until the 3rd Friday of September because the computer won't allow it before then.

50 amp site is $21 a night
30 amp site is $19 a night These are both cheaper if you have a state park pass

2 dump stations at either entrance to the park, no honey wagon at this point but that MAY change at the end of summer. They are not asking anyone to do it but there has been talk about someone coming in for it. So maybe by the time we get there, but no guarantees. Paper plates.

Most reservation are made through Reserve America. You set up an account and reserve that way. But, Lisa said with so many of us (I am figuring maybe 20 by then) she said it would be easiest for her to do it. I will be faxing here the names , rig length, amp needed so when she talks to people about the reservations, she has the info.

She suggested Kansa CG I believe was the name. Will look that up. I NEED YOUR amp needs. 30 or 50?

Will get the list to her when I get it done and add to it as necessary. They have a lot of fishing if this interests you and boating and rentals. Maybe Popeye can get a job there by then and show us all how it is done.

Will let you know as I learn more. This is it for now. August 2017. Lynne
