Glen Elder State Park

I should be there Thurs July 7th. Three nights. When I spoke with them a few days ago they did not know which sites had 50 amp? That will be important for those running more than one air conditioner because just guessing but it might be hot there in August?

Ron, you are so right, Kansas in August will be brutal! Shade and 50 amp. will be important for us, but I can run both A/C's on 30 amp. but not anything else! Rail!

Appreciate the time and effort you are taking to scout this out for us Ron. Really nice to have some insight into the layout before we get there.

I will get there if I do not run out of baling wire and duct tape.

Ron,

The flyer states what AMP each rig needs so hopefully they can accommodate those. I use 30 and can run both AC's like Rail but not much else. Like to cook outside on the grill whenever possible so not too concerned.

By August 2017 I will have a Magne Shades for the front windows and their flip shades for the side windows. They claim to block 90 % of the heat through the windows so we will see. Talked to a guy who had something similar and he said they sure helped with the heat and being able to see out and people not see in. He said it made a 10 to 15 degree difference inside.

Will be nice to have the info on the park ahead of time. Bap, my favorite repair tool is duct tape.

Yes, I have all of that. Got the flexible water line re-attached (behind the water heater) and it is holding right now. Will make sure and turn off water at hose bib when I leave camp.

I finally made it to this thread and read it all.
I wasn't reading it cuz I can't go , mom comes first !
(and it's hard to find the time for so many forums , I already quit daily on workamper and escapees except for about once a month each)
Hope everyone that DOES go has a great time with mild weather (ya know , heat and spinney clouds..)

I guess , things could change by then but hope not .

Popeye,

Would love to see you come but Mom does come first. I hope you can keep her as long as possible. I sure miss my parents.

The good news is that this won't be the only Meet & Greet, just the first. I think next time we will go more East and catch up with you and Bap. We'll figure it out after this first one.

You take care of your Mom and enjoy her as much as you can. Lynne

I agree with Lynne, Popeye, My Dad turns 90 in Sept, and a lot of what we do depends on him, although he is self sufficient right now.

Frank and Popeye. I suggest you each bring your parent along. It seems to me that some adult supervision will be needed at the Meet and Greet. That will save me from wandering off and getting lost while following the two of you!!! LOL

Gordon,

Very good point. Bring em along and I can do Popeye's Mom's hair while she is with us, give hand massages, and Frank's Dad and I can go fishing. OK, I got to get over the parent envy!

Just joking, but it would be great if the two of them are up to it. Frank's cat would probably not want to give up it's perch and Popeye wouldn't be able to tell his best jokes in front of his Mom (maybe).

I used to pick out my cars by which one Mom could get into and out of easiest. I sure understand adjusting your plans to your parent's needs.

Lynne
