Drove coach this afternoon after road trip to Pikes Peak. Fuel still leaks. Tomorrow first thing will take to Freightliner close by. Lynne, on your clear coat you will need to sand and tape like you did for the base coat of paint. You can buy a masking tape dispenser and masking paper like from Home Depot and that makes the masking go so much faster. I used one that could handle 12" paper. Just a light sand to scuff up paint and give it some bite. And do not put any wax on coach until you get clear coat on. Wax and paint do not mix.

Ron,

Put the clear coat on today. Did not sand so will see what happens. I have some spots that my prep apparently was not right because they have bubbled so will redo those at some point. Learning process for me.

I already have tape and paper and it has done fine, just time consuming. I don't plan to do anymore of the decals until I see how these look and survive. Maybe about 6 months or so. Will see.

Understand the issue with wax and paint. That is why I removed it prior to prepping the decals. Might have missed some. Should be dry enough tomorrow to put wax on the rear end. Will have you look at Custer and see what you think please.

Picked up the stuff for the Pina Colada cake for the 25th. Potluck Saturday. Trying to figure out what else to bring. Maybe meatballs or blackened chicken penne.

Talk with ya later and see you I a week. Lynne

Hi Lynne!

For clear coat scuffing, I usually use a scuff pad. Object is to just scuff up the base color to give enough for the clear to adhere to.

Hello greeters. Weather forecast calls for rain Saturday and Sunday in Custer. Looks like I will be in fairly early Saturday the 18th. Probably be looking at Fort Laramie on Friday.

I expect we will arrive early also Ron, we are leaning toward spending Friday night about 130 miles from there in Douglas, Wyoming. Taking the scenic route from Cody avoiding the Big Horn Mtns and the interstates fro the most part.

Hello M&G,

Will be heading out of MI on Saturday morning and heading for Davenport, IA for our first stop. Always stopped there on our way to Omaha for a visit. Around 400 miles from here, might just drive a bit farther if roads and weather are nice.

May arrive in Custer on Monday so will check if site is open as we get closer so may be in Monday PM.

Done with painting anything on MH right now. Will need to redo some spots and then need to clear coat another area when we get back. Cleaned the coach yesterday and started packing some things inside. Ready to get there and meet up with everyone.

Did someone here say there was a Walmart 40 miles from the CG? Going to stop on the way and pick things up but will need to go once or twice to pick up extras and milk.

See you in a few days. Stay safe on the road all! Lynne

I checked and there is supposed to be a Sams Club in Rapid City.

Rapid City is large enough to have most all one would need. Custer also has a good grocery for a small town.

Hello M&G,

Ron, Lloyd, Deb. There is a guy on the RAD FB page group who lives out by Custer State Park and he would like to join us one day when we ride. I told him I didn't think it would be a problem but I wanted to ask first.

He said there is a great place to go in and eat pizza by where he lives. Figure we should let him join us one day or more if he wants to. His wife apparently is not well enough to ride.

Let me know and I will message him. Bill Fuller is his name so if you see him posting talk with him if you want. He said the Northern part of the trail is the most scenic.

Finished up everything on the rig this afternoon. Just a bit more to pack now and we are ready to lean. Cleaned the mud off the bike getting it ready to put in Noxi. Still warm here and looks about the same in SD. Hope it stays warm there but not too warm.

See you soon, Lynne

Hello M&G,

Just messaged with Bill again who lives out in SD. His wife actually has an electric trike she rides. Hip issues.

He told me about a stockade spur line out there that looks interesting. I have asked him to post a picture of it with a refence to the Meet & Greet group so we could all look it over.

Sounds interesting! Lynne

Talking

Very nice bike ride from Lakeside KOA Fort Collins to old town this morning. Follows Poudre River all the way to town. "Trail" is all concrete and smooth. Lynne, on your travels to Santa Fe I would recommend staying in Fort Collins a few days and taking advantage of this trail. I went fishing on bike this morning. A couple of pictures of trail. And then a picture of the catch of the day. Happy trail everyone. Looking forward to seeing everyone.
