Good to hear from you Bobby. Sorry about the help but that seems about the standard for many folks now days. Hopefully the next one you find will be better.

In spite of the sad story you do sound upbeat. Perhaps the winter will be the cure. If you are down by Frank I am sure you will enjoy yourself. Frank seems to be engaged with whatever he does and I expect he will drag others along on his adventures. I am looking forward to meeting him and enjoying the experience.

Nice word picture of the Dakota convertible. Hmmmm hope you will send a picture. I have not seen a Dakota painted in Porsche colors. LOL

Hey Popeye!

Yes, it feels great to have it running again. I took the long way home this morning, went a good 1/2 hour out of my way. The more time I put on it the better I feel.

Bobby,,,, nope. Don't do it. It is not worth the health problems. Hope you used black primer? It is in style.

ID:	111194Gordon, here are some pics of the Dakota before I put it back together, after being wrecked while parked by a old guy that was born in 1921! He managed to also wreck the parked Infinity and a parked Cadillac before he flipped his Mitsubishi Eclipse over on it's roof, all on a 35mph road at 4pm! Glad he didn't get hurt, he looked funny hanging upside down in his seatbelts! We got him out ok. His insurance tried to screw us on the truck trying to give us $2400 to total it , but Sally had kept collision on it all the years since she bought it new , so we told Allstate no deal and went thru our collision after looking the Dakota Convertibles up on the internet for sale. They were going for $4500-12500 so they gave us $7100 and subrogated against his insurance and let us keep the truck! Cost me $1500 for a like new bed , door and fender! Just needs paint, took me 3 years to find the decals for the sides, can't wait to see it in paint, and yes it will be in black urethane primer if I can't get paint done before Florida!

Good morning all!

61 here today, overcast and raining again! Remember when I said we needed rain bad? It has been over a week with out seeing the sun. More of the same in the forecast at least through Saturday.

Have a great day all!

Morning all. Coffee/cocoa good this morning. Sitting in my easy chair reading the mail about 5:30am when I had a blowout. No, not the air kind, the water kind. Loud bang and large WHOOSH. Seems the fresh water line I just installed on the new water pump blew out. So, in my skivies, I went outside in the rain and shut off the water. Now have no water at all in MH. Very lucky I was here when it blew. It is outside in fresh water tank compartment. Lucky that Rebecca is not here with me at this time, just me and Chico the chihuahua. So after traffic I will drive around and look for a water line that will hold sufficient pressure so as to not blow again. Have a great day all.

Hi Bobby - can understand the attachment to the Dakota. No matter what color it is I think it is a classic and will continue to gain in value and interest. Not many unique vehicles like that around.

Ron - sorry about the water leak. Skivvies in the rain!!! Pretty easy to dry off and not much to throw in the dryer.

Lloyd - taking the longer way home. It is not the destination it is the journey. So they say but I just like driving ours as well. Does not take much of a reason to go for a drive.

Supposed to be 77 here today. Been a bit cloudy the last few days but no rain. Really nice but the evenings seem cool after being here for a while. How quickly we acclimatize.

Hope everyone has a grand day.

Got the water working again. Took my shower, about six hours after I had intended. Life is good.

Ron,
Sorry about the water line, when I redid the leaks in mine, I used sharkbite fittings and pex tubing, have held for almost 2 years now, I do have my pressure regulator set between 40 and 45 psi though, I just don't trust the plastic fittings that the factory uses for any more than that.
Bobby,
Hope that you can get the truck painted soon, you did a nice job of repairing her.
Frank

Good Afternoon All,

Half day today and got the oil changed on the Prius and the sun is out and beautiful. 77 in MI in Nov, I am loving it!

Coffee was good this am and looking forward to another cup soon. I think we all like driving ours rigs. I know I do. Hate seeing it in storage but it won't be long really and then it will be out again.

Lloyd, is it too much rain now? Hope not, but sometimes you got to build up that ground level water level.

Ya all have a stupendous day out there. Lynne

Sometimes I think it is better in storage. We will sit here for 5 months and enjoy every minute of it. But I walk by the drivers seat and steering wheel at least a dozen times a day.

Sometimes I wish I could take the front end and leave the box and go for a drive.

Hi Lynne,,,, we are okay. Just tired of not seeing the sun, and now its dark before 6pm, all in the same week. Everything is pretty soggy!

Gordon, when we took our couple week trip, I really enjoyed the driving as much as the time visiting new places. By the 3rd or 4th day I was ready to move on. I hope when we retire, I get to a slower pace. W--k keeps me very hyper.
