Sounds like you caught it in time before it $%^&((&^ !
AND you stayed on the road too.
IIRC Abilene is a refinery town ,there's gotta be some mobile welders around. Keep us posted on your progress .

The weather in Texas can get pretty bad but it usually moves fast .
It's coming towards you now but soon will be behind you , probably a good idea to wait.
Snow in El Paso ....wonder how many plows they have ??

Good morning, all. 45 degrees with rain all night here. I help out with the EMA where we live, and got a telephone call this morning. Starting to do some flood planning, but the Missouri River is expected to crest 4-6 ft. below the top of the levy. Glad for good coffee this morning. I am also worried we have not heard from Curtis. We have some friends in an RV there, but they were miles from the tornado. Tim, I hope you get things resolved and get back on the road. Is your route clear to Quartsite? Lynne, we read your post about the bridge. We would not want to tow our fiver across that today. Be safe and healthy, all.

Good Morning Everyone;
Had third Christmas dinner last night. Scales have managed to find a hiding place!

Tonight we celebrate our oldest Grand Daughter thirteenth birthday. She was born on Christmas Day but we have always separated the celebration. Another round of eating too much. There will be cake in addition to pie (pecan, apricot, pumpkin).

Janet is making waffles. There is still a bunch of Christmas baking sitting around. Got to get a velcro belt.

Tim - it sounds like you will be staying put for a few day(s). Always a good idea and will save gasoline as well. Always good to be stationary is situations like this. That is the beauty of a MH. Always at home. I am sure you will find the proper repairs. I am amazed at Rail's memory. Thanks to all of you who have provided assistance to Tim.

We are currently about 5 degrees here. Our temperatures are in centigrade so I estimate the equivalent in Fahrenheit. Supposed to warm up later this week.

Sad to hear about the tornado. Sad for all of the folks who have lost friends and family. I did not think this was tornado season. I am unsure about global warming but certainly have seen the differences in climate. We seem to have been warmer here than previous years but our last black Christmas was 13 years ago. We have more snow than normal.

I agree with Steve. Checking out parts stores is always enjoyable. Besides getting stuff you need you never know when you will find things you did not know you wanted. Even the experience of finding "I did not know they made things to do that" is interesting.

Hope you all have a great day.

Afternoon
Currently 31
Feels like 20
I believe it's warmer back home instead of here
1st, a huge Thank you, too those that are helping us out with all the info.
I am really glad Joe changed the route yesterday because I was going to go to Dallas / Fort Worth then Pick up HWY 20. Sorry too hear of the deaths there.
It was so windy yesterday and still now. Trying to sleep last night was a wash the MH was moving back and forth there were garbage can lids flying across the parking lot and thunder was deafing.
Still sitting at the Flying J. The 18 wheelers are pulling in one after the other.
'Thanks Rail for the info I sent the welding co you suggested and am waiting for the call. I presume Monday they will call if not we will limp to Sweetwater. We got lost on the way to TS and when we got there they didn't have a Grade 8 Bolt in 7/16 so we drove next door to HD they had the bolts but not the nuts. In the end we got the bolt back in so we just need a welder.
The Genie is running Flawlessly along with the furnace.
Thanks everyone again for the kind thoughts and suggestions. We don't have to be in Quartzsite until the 5th so we won't take any chances.
Here are a few pictures that show no bolt and a broken weld.

Evening,

It is supposed to get icy here tomorrow around 3pm. Since I work until 4:30 and have to be back the next day I may just be staying the night at the hospital. I can and have slept in one of the labs before so don't mind, better than driving icy roads 31 miles one way and then back in in the morning.

So, if I am not on tomorrow night and things look bad don't worry, I will be staying at work. I don't do private internet FB, or IRV2, at work.

You all stay as safe as you can. Tim, hope the welders get to you tomorrow and the weather calms down so you can get back on the road. Curtis was at Home Depot I believe looking for electrical stuff to do a job.

Good Night All, Lynne

Dang!

7/16"!!! Why do companies use odd stuff like that? Sorry Tim, thought Tractor Supply had you covered.

We got more rain today, every couple of hours buckets of it. Pattern continues till end of day Wednesday.

I worked on our coach today. Installed the new a/c condenser. A bit of a project, the new one was about 3" longer, had to fabricate a new mounting for it and the electric fan. Ordered a new drier this evening, maybe soon we will have our dash air operational again.

L.

Butt typing?
I thought I posted up this morning but it's not here. So here I go again.

Maybe & I are still in San Antonio. Missed the tornadoes all together. Talked to my neighbor today and we had a little sleet at our house, but nothing to worry about. The worst tornadoes were about 50 miles east of us.

Odd thing. My daughter and family were in downtown Dallas last night visiting her mom in her 16th floor Condo when the storms hit. So they got to see them coming and spent the night in the bathroom.

Lots of homes GONE this morning in Garland and Rowlett.
I work those neighborhoods before I retired. Breaks my heart!
11 Dead so far and counting.

We spent Saturday evening eating Mexican Steaks and listening to a Mexican Band that had this phenomenal violin player. Had a blast celebrating Melissa's birthday.

Headed home Tuesday if the roads don't ice over.
Texas can't drive on ice. Panhandle Peeps can, but not the test of us. And I don't even want to try.

Woke up @ 2:30 Been reading up on all the threads on irv2.
Snowing now
Currently 29
feels like 17
The MH is a block of ice.
Gennie fired right off.
Coffee is good and hot.
Lloyd,
It's okay I love TS I stop there all the time back home, its like Northern Hydraulics. a store not to be missed I could spend a fortune there if I had one!!!!
I can see the 18 wheelers going down the Hwy from where we are sitting, had a bunch of MH,TT and 5th's pulling in but not sure where they went after fueling up, (back on the road?) it appears they are going the speed limit on the hwy.
Rail,
Hoping to get a call from the weld shop @ 8 I checked there web site and appears they have a bay to pull into to get the work done. I can't think a small weld costing much.
Hope you have a great day and be safe if your on the roads,
Tim
