Found our Motorhome today!

Evening all,

Jerry and I went looking at motorhomes today. Decided not to go to the show in Novi because we didn't plan to buy new. Went to 2 dealerships to look at 3 different rigs. First one was sold, 2nd one had not had good owners and it showed.

Third one was different. You know how you say you will know? Well, walked around the outside. Plenty of storage room and everything outside was in really good condition. Got inside and it just fit. Husband was impressed with the obvious care this rig had had. Everything looked good. Right amount of room inside, right amount of storage outside and right amount of storage inside.

We went inside and started talking price. Sales lady gave us a price and we said no. We gave her our number and the head guy said yes so we put a deposit down. We will go pay for it Valentine's Day. It will stay at the dealerships (because of our roads) until the weather warms up probably in April.

OK, taking a deep breath now. So, now we actually own a MH and need to learn even more. I cannot thank each of you enough for all your knowledge, help, and support. WOW, I still don't think it has set in yet.

Lynne

Wow, Lynne! Your new baby look very nice! I love the hardwood floors! I just knew you would find it! Now, how are you going to stand it, not taking it home with you? We will have to start a pool, see how long it is before you take your baby home! April?? No way! My pick is when the roads dry out!! Hahahahaha! Congrat's Rail!

Lynne and Jerry;
This is most exciting news.

I am sure Janet and I will not be the last to congratulate you on the new MH. As you say it looks pristine.

Winnebago is a well known brand that has a super support system. It may not be the in vogue brand right now but it is a very competent manufacturer that will be around for years to come.

I think I agree with BAP. It will be difficult to leave it at the dealers until April. I certainly could not be that patient. There are too many things we would be wanting to do to fit it out for future camping. Both of you will enjoy making it your special place to view the world from the road.

If you to to the Winnebago site you can get manual, etc. The Winnebago folks are really helpful and can answer many of your questions.

Oh yes - more pictures please. You just gave us a teaser. Congratulations.

You will love the L shaped kitchen.

I've heard it said that a motorhome is like a rescued dog, you just know when its the one.

Congradulations

Happy Birthday! I had a 4yo grandson and his 3yo cousin helping me all day Saturday! Spent hours throwing things in a hole, rocks, limbs etc. then switched to mountain climbing on a pile of dirt. They had a blast all day and was filthy!

Happy Birthday BAP. Hope you have a great one and many more to come.

Terry - does not seem like winter will end at your house. Must feel like Joe Btfsplk at times.

....is it worth it ?...

god, you all got me thinking on how much has changed in my life time,,,remember when we were tethered to the wall on our phone and we had to poke our finger in the hole and actually dial it, and before that we would just pick up the phone and there were other people already talking....the good ole party line...lol..then our first computers were calculators....lol...air condioner was a fan in an open window,,cars only came standard with 1 side mirror secound was an option....lol,,,man i could go on an on,,, but it just keeps me feeling older...lol....i cant amagin what will change for my grandsons in there lifetime,,,,,probably pretty awsome... good LORD willing i hope there not an intergalactic war going on then..lol
