Frank, are you setting back up in your new "perm" site? meaning where you are taying for the winter? Both our cats are adjusting well to the travel. Doing much better than last year.
Not sure what we are going to do today, but it will be fun!

Good Afternoon,
Waiting on Wingard to call me back to reset my dish, and it is a deluge out, got most of the outside set up, A couple small thing to do yet.
Lloyd, we are at the park where we will be this winter, but not in the correct site, we are in temporary sites set up put front, we have water and electric and the honey wagon comes in once a week to pump us outr, so not too bad. The park itself is being revamped, and expanded. they have the thing torn up and are installing storm and sanitary sewers and new water lines(I think on the water lines, not positive). We will have to move again when they get the regular sites done, oh and they are laying concrete patios and blacktop roads.

Octane.... got them may just check it out. See how we do with our to do list while we are here.
Frank, I thought maybe while you were away they would have you in your new perm site. Guess there is more to do. They better hurry, the snowbirds will be there soon!
Great day here, went to Arches National park, or 2,000 arches in the park. We found a 4x4 trail that took us out of the park back to the main highway, about mid-way there was a area of dinosaur tracks.Very cool. You could actualy track the critter as it walked about 2-300'. Its strides were about 6-8'.
Afterwards we went to Canyon Lands, and just drove about some.
Good weather. got to 88, by dinner time we ate outside at the picnic table and temps were mid-70's.

Good Morning, Everyone! Coffee was very good today!
Lloyd, that is a very nice area, up there, I used to truck through there a few times a year, from Flagstaff to Hurricane, Ut.! I liked to stop at a little TS before dropping down the hill into Hurricane! Nice and cool at night up there! Now that is a downhill stretch, with a school zone at the bottom of the hill! I would start off the top in 4th gear, low side, and let the Jake Brake hold me back, and still had to ride the brakes! I was hauling ammunition for the big WalMart Distribution Center, so was heavy all the time! I would always have a line of cars behind me when I got to the bottom, but there was no other way to go down that hill! 8%/9% grade! Switch backs, and that school zone at the bottom, no room for error! Rt. 59!
Frank, it will be nice when they get the CG done, but I'm sure it is a mess now!
Hope everyone is having a great day! Rail!

goodmorning folks,,
the trip to Louisville and back was quite the adventure this time,,on the way it was 93 and muggy with clear skies got to Lexington and it went so dark the street lights on the highway came on then it hit 60 plus mph winds hail and heavy heavy rain visability went to the end of the hood...the whole interstate shut down for well over an hour everyone was pulled off the highway,,then on the way home I made the worst mistake you can make...I trusted our little gas saver focus computer,,it said I had 10 miles to empty,,,was heading for a station that is 15 cents cheaper on the gallon,,,at miles away,,,,yup the little focus lied and we went dry,,,,i felt it die so I grabbed neutral and coasted another mile, then there we sat on the side of the interstate again but this time it was all my fault,,,ohhh the shame of it all,,,,,lol Debbie called our son and he made the 1 hour drive and brought us 5 gallons,,i wasn't going to leave Debbie alone on the highway and make the walk to that gas station if I didn't have to...whew what a trip....lol.
everyone have a blessed day,,,stay safe out there my friends..
....jeff

Great Idea about Wifie.
I ran out of gas last Winter on the Hwy in Yuma with the toad, I took the first exit coasting too a stop in a safe spot. I
had a patrol car on me before I could get out of the car. He was adamant about moving the car across another Hwy at the intersection and do it on a green light.(we were perfectly safe where I stopped in no-ones way.) So the light changed and he and Jo started pushing and yep there was a slight incline so we ended up in the middle intersection and the light changed RED I told him so. Two guys that were siting with a green light ran to our aid and got us to the other side of the Hwy and into a flat ditch. Again before I could get out of the car the Cop was gone. Gee Thanks for the help. One of the pusher's offered to give Joe a ride to a gas station a couple miles away. $28.00 bucks for a gallon gas can.
So he took Joe to his house to get a gas can. He is a Sargent in the Military Thanks again Sarge.
First time I ran out of gas and hopefully the last time...
Sorry Jeff for the long rant. How did you do in Lexenton? Great I hope, man that rain and wind sounded terrible glad you didn't get washed off the road. You have a Great Son too.

Goooodmorning all y’all!!!
My morning coffee’s great and it’s a beautiful partly cloudy day here in Capitan NM, looks as if the monsoons will be active today.
I’d planned to drive from Capitan NM to Carbondale IL over Labor Day weekend but between low finances (I overspent while I was here) and the opportunity to make some $$$ replacing the engine on a Smart car it looks as if I’ll be in Capitan an extra 3 weeks. One thing about me is that I’m very adaptable LOL! At least it’s pretty here. The Smart car should be interesting; to remove the engine you lift the entire rear of the car up and drop the engine, transmission, and rear wheels, all mounted on a pan, out the bottom. WOOOHOOO, won’t that be fun!
Don’t you love it when gas stations take advantage of your problems by screwing you. To make a little extra is only human, but $28 is shameful. It seems to me the fair thing to do would be to rent the gas can for a fair price, charging a stiff but refundable deposit only to insure you return the can.
Rail, ever since I began driving my RV I’ve developed a whole new respect for truck drivers. Your story reminds me of the trucker who was interviewed about his thoughts driving the Klondike Highway from the border crossing into Skagway. He described the 11% grade on the 2 lane highway as 10 miles of sheer terror. I can honestly say, without any shame, that I’d never attempt it in my RV much less a heavily laden semi.
Time to start my day.
Steve

TIM,, we done just fine,, thank GOD, the storm that we went through had dropped the temp from a hot muggy 93deg to a nonmuggy 72,,so Debbie could breath easy,, with her lung disease it would have been very dangerous the way the humidity was before the storm,,and wouldn't you know it not a cop passed us the whole time...
only one car stopped to try and help 2 young girls barely in there twenties wanted to take me to a Walmart and buy us a gas can and get us some gas...very sweet girls ..but my son was inroute by then and I thanked them very much but also told them of the dangers of them stopping to help strangers ...I had too,, people are scray sick these days,,,but is great to know that there are still caring people out there these days,,,
well behind schedule today gotta get crackin..,,,

Good Afternoon Gang,
Well the irv2 gremlins got me, was typing my post and it just disappeared, Oh well. Just puttered around the camper this morning, finished setting up, looks like we will be here till the middle of October/ first of November. Got the dish working yesterday, only took a few minutes to recalibrate, and the tech sent me the procedure, so if it happens again, I don't have to call. Then of course, the trees are in the way and no signal, UGGGGGHHHHH. I borrowed an antenna to get the local channel, my rooftop antenna won't pick them up, too far away.
Bap,
Sounds like a hair raising experience, glad that you made it home safe and sound.
Steve,
Sound like you are going to have some fun, lol.
Have a great day all,
Frank

Good Morning,
Sitting here drinking coffee and enjoying the start of a day off. BIL and SIL just getting around to continue on their trip. Hopefully they have no more problems with the truck. The # 5 injector was plugged up so they replaced it.
The weather has been pretty decent all summer. Some would call it hot but I have really enjoyed it. Cooler coming in next week according to the weather man but still plan on doing some camping, just won't need the AC.
Frank, we added a HD adapter to our bat wing and got a lot more stations than before just sitting in our driveway. Not sure if it would help in trees but it added about another 15 channels. Was around $28 at CW. Sounds like the work at the CG is going well. I am sure they want it done prior to snow birds coming south. What is the name of the CG so I can save it for next year and look at what they are doing?
Bap, Glad the temps dropped for Debbie, I know it makes a heck of a difference for breathing.
Well, need to get breakfast before they leave. You all have a nice day. Lynne

Good Morning Gang,
Coffee is good this morning, weather not so much. Watching the news, tropical rain south of us is causing localized flooding in Tampa causing problems on some of the roads. Bracing for the up coming tropical storm, looks like it will hit north of us, so not as much wind, but lots of rain tomorrow.
Lynne,
Glad that Dave got the truck repaired, hopefully that does the trick and it runs the way it is supposed to now. They are running behind schedule, the line has been drawn in the sand, contractors were told November 1st for so many sites, December 1st for the old part of the park to be finished. Unless they run into a big glitch, I believe that this is doable. It is Belle Parc in Brooksville, Fl. It has been really frustrating to those of us that are here, but in the end it is going to be a beautiful park. We would love to have you and Jerry spend the winter here with us, I know that you won't be ready until the winter of 2017/2018, and by then the park will be totally ready and we will have right around 300 sites in 4 different sections.
Have a great day all,
Frank

Goooodmorning all y’all!!!
I just finished my morning coffee, as usual it was delightful. It’s another overcast day. The overcast and rain is a little tiresome but I love how the countryside has greened up. Back in the 1970’s my late wife and I lived in Menlo Park CA (back when it was still affordable). All the locals would complain about the winter rains but I liked them, during sunny days there was no haze to spoil the view and everything was so green and lush!
I need to call my son’s father-in-law who lives in nearby Roswell and see if he’d enjoy having lunch with me. I met him at my son’s wedding and he seemed like a nice fellow so I hope that he agrees to meet.
I’m really looking forwards to visiting northeast Illinois in October. I have many friends there and places with so many happy memories I’d like to visit. Carbondale located in southern Illinois should be nice too. The six years I spent getting my first bachelor’s degree was probably the most fun period of my life. I never had much money but boy howdy did I have fun! With its rolling hills and extensive hardwood forests southern Illinois is a beautiful part of the state too.

Good Morning, Coffee is long gone, but it was great. I woke up a little earlier than normal this morning. Got my washing machine working and set the table and neatened up a bit. Art was up later than I was last night and he kinda left a mess in the kitchen. He has been working on the tv's in the New to us MoHO. He could hook our cable up to the front tv and get a signal, but nothing on the back one or the outside one. or hook up to any of them and get a signal there, but no where else. I told him I thought the TV's were the ones before digital and would need a converter box, so he took out our kitchen tv and it worked even if it was a second in the line tv, so yesterday we bought another tv for the MoHO and he put it in yesterday. So, I guess we are in the market for 2 more Tv's.
When we travel we usually have our 8 yr old grand daughter with us, so a tv, especially in the front is a necessary evil after dark. I usually have my nose in a book or am doing research on line and Art is working on line. but , he does like watching the nascar stuff.
I hope everyone is doing fine and watching those fuel gauges. I am one of those lucky ones who haven't ran out...YET. Now that I have said it, my days are numbered. I do try to fill up when I get down to about 1/2 a tank. I keep telling myself, " You never know when an emergency will come up."
You all take care, keep track of your coffee cups.

Good morning, all!
I've been busy and haven't posted for a bit. Spent the weekend in NC with son, DIL, and GD. The little one (18 months) had a minor procedure yesterday AM and son asked his Mom to be there. So, of course, I went as well. Procedure took about 10 minutes, and everything is fine. Small tubes in ears to drain fluid to prevent the reoccurring ear infections.
We are getting ready for the "rain" that is supposed to hit N FL for a few days starting this afternoon. I picked up wood for multiple projects just before we left for NC. Now I need to unload it off the trailer before the rain starts. Rain may start sometime this afternoon, then continue for days.
Sounds like most everyone is doing well, either working, vacationing, or extend-vacationing. That's great to here!
During some off time on Monday, DW and I visited a new campground close (~20 miles) from the kids' home in NC. Everything is brand new (1.5 years old), nice spacing between sites, peaceful, rural location, reasonable rates (I think), etc. It might be a good spot in the future to park the coach, and visit the kids during the day with a toad. Still thinking ahead a few years...
We also visited another rural campground. Was not impressed with the "outhouses" and primitive sites all jammed together. It is also the site of a local music festival and has high ratings. I am guessing the ratings are because of the music festival. I will admit that the location is pretty good (not too far from the Interstates; 20 mins.) and is a great setting for the festival.
We had time to visit a local KOA. They have been there for years, but only joined the KOA community within the last year. It is right up against a very busy Interstate. It's like the highway side of a motel with all of the traffic noise. They do have a pool, but the sites were very close to each other. The manager did her sales pitch on why we should join some KOA membership plan; to get "free points" to save up and use for free stays at a KOA. Sorry, but there is no such thing as "free points" when you have to spend $50+ per night to get them. Needless to say, we were not impressed.
WOW! Captcha just lost my post when I tried to preview it. Fortunately I had "copied" the entire post above with Ctl-A followed by Ctl-C, just in case. However, this time I was able to use the Back function in my browser and everything was still there. Frustrating!!
So I don't have to fight captcha again this morning, I am done.
Everyone, have a great day!!!
