Good Morning All.
Made a trip over to repair shop where my friend took his motorhome for rear end repair. They have the rear end removed. Everything inside is pitted. Water in rear axle. It's a Ford F53 1999. They bought it new in 1998. He claims that he checked oil every year. Always before a trip. Problem with that type of checking is that after setting for a few days water separates from oil. It is then on bottom and oil looks good. Axle shaft splines and spider gear splines is what failed on the rear end. New axle shafts, spider gears and bearings are on order. Ring and pinion look good.
Checking oil level is not good enough. Unless it is checked shortly after being taken for a run.
Coffee this morning is very smooth tasting. Wife cleaned out the different blends of coffee we had in cabinet when we cleaned out our motorhome. Put them all in one container and shook it up. Not bad.

Good Morning Gang,
Here in NE Ohio May was a very wet month, almost double what is normal. Today a little cool, but sunny and clear blue sky's with the temps heading again to the mid 70's.
Gordon,
Rita has said that she can't wait to meet Janet, sounds like we are in for it at the meet and greet, lol.
Charlie,
Welcome to the fulltimers group. It will take a while to get used to the differences and the fact that you don't have a home to go back to, but that will pass and then you really start to enjoy the fact that you are free to roam as you want. I try to plan ahead from 6 months to a year where I want to travel, then we research what there is to see in the area and what is near on the way there and back. You do have to plan ahead around holiday weekends, due to the fact that most campgrounds book up for them, other than that we try to stay flexible on the time schedules.
Have a great day all,
Frank

Morning all!

Had a internet problem, I have been off line for 6-7 days, except for my facebook access from my smart phone.

Looks like everyone is doing well here, good to read.

Our new trailer,,,,, salesman said putting the finishing touches on it last Thursday, should be ready tomorrow........ as of Tuesday still saying the same thing. As of today no call to come and get it. Maybe next week.

Tim, we don't have reservations yet for Yuma, we will not be there in October, weather here is great in October and most of November. We are debating coming there in December (then flying home for Xmas) or just leaving here right after the holidays.

I have 2 of my antique motorcycles on the lift tables. One (1976 Honda CB400f) I am trying to have back operational by next Thursday for a bike night event. Both of these bikes sat for 4-5 years, and the nasty new fuel made a huge mess of the carbs.. My fault, I should have drained it all, but at the time didn't plan on letting them sit. Just got very involved in our new house build. I should have the 400 running this afternoon, if I didn't screw up the carbs.

Rail, is there any place you haven't been? Did Johnny Cash write that song about you???

Well, got to run. Off to the Walmart to buy a battery,,, and get Ms Lloyd some breakfast.

Have a great day all!

L.

Good Morning Everyone;
Had a nice rain overnight and this morning. Garden is coming up so this rain is at the very best moment. Nice soaker. So far about 1/4 inch but supposed to continue until noon. Then sun. Mowed the grass yesterday so the yard looks great.

Finished the business taxes yesterday. That is a load off my plate so now I can really relax. Some fixin' to do on the coach so never nothing to do. Have replacement pump for AquaHot in hand but have to move the coach. Parked about an inch too close to the stacker so cannot fully open the cargo door. Bit of procrastination as well.

Everyone have a great day.

Lazy morning here today. We got up put out some chairs and sipped coffee and talked. We have friends from Ft. Smith, AR. that are riding their Goldwing up to see us and we'll have lunch at the casino.

Rail, which slots are the loosest? Haha

No trees here so it gets blasted hot, but with window awnings out and the AC on we are comfortable inside. Outside we have a fan blowing on us so it's not bad there either.

Tomorrow we leave Joplin and head to Lost Valley Resort in Owensville, Mo. to camp six days with my Brother and my S.I.L. After that we head to Des Moines to drop off about 600#'s of family heirlooms.

The coach is running and operating great! Knock wood.

Y'all have a great day and keep on, keepin on.

Hey gang, top of the mornin' to ya!
Sun is out and it's gonna get hot in Iowa.....say what!!? Yup, can't believe it myself. Frank I'm sending it your way, we've put up with the wet and cold crap long enough.
Ron, I have been wondering if that coffee experiment would work! Hmmm, reminds me of mixing the "suicide" (it was called) back in school where you mix all the soft drinks together at the soda fountain.

Got the Grasshopper cleaned up and greased. It's a heck of a machine. I'll put a pic on here soon. Been spraying weeds too.......it's a war every year.

It's true, "I've Been Everywhere" is a song written about Rail. A song never fit a man better.

Have a great day!

Good Morning Everyone! On my second cup, and it is good!

Charlie, i did not play the slots that much, probably a good thing! But, when i did play them, i would look for the ones with the big progressive pay outs! If you are going to hit, might as well hit a big payout! And always play the max coins, your odds are better that way!
Last slot i played was the "Megabuck's" dollar machine at the Ellis Island Casino, Las Vegas, while waiting for a dinner table, put in 21 dls., second pull, cashed out 575.00 dls.!

Johnny Cash may have wrote that song about me, , as I have been just about everywhere in the continental U.S.! One thing i loved about my job! The last 12 years hauling the slot machines was a very good gig! Had my truck set up, fully self contained, and my trailer set up for the security, and the safe transport of the slot machines! I carried ramps, had a liftgate, 125 high grade furniture pads, the dolleys, straps, everything needed! In the 12 years i did this, i did not have one claim, and most of the time, would only have a few slot machines in my 53' trailer! Also in the 12 years, I probably only hauled full loads a dozen times, usually to brand new casinos!
And most of the time I had round trips, load new at the manufacture, in Las Vegas, deliver them, and pick up the old ones, and take them back to the same place that made them in Las Vegas!
When i retired, and sold everything, and moved over here, (Thailand), a lot of my buddies ask why i would leave when i had such a good thing going?
I just told them, "You have to know when to hold them, and when to fold them"
I saw the way the trucking industry was heading, and did not see me doing things the way they wanted? Got out while the getting was good! I had a older truck, pre-egr, with a newer motor, paid for, and it was not worth the cost of upgrading for the few years i would have had left!
I have watched my buddies that have done this, upgraded trucks, battled with the all of the reg's and fought the emissions equiptment that seems to always be breaking, and cost thousands of dollar's to fix? Nope, why i bought a older MH, did not want anything electronic! (In the motor anyway, the Allison is)
So, you now know the rest of the story! Rail!

Good Morning Gang,
Weather is great, thanks Electra 225, clear blue sky's and temps in the upper 70's to low 80's.
Had a nice dinner last night with Rita's brother and his wife. Rita made her famous pork roast wrapped in bacon with the soy marinade sauce. MMMMMM. Today Her son and girl friend are coming over and we are having bear burgers with my potatoes with chili beans and cheese. Then going to the park tavern to hear the band play and have a couple of adult beverages. If this keeps up, will need a wheelbarrow to get around.
Have a great day all,
Frank

Good morning all!

No call on the trailer yesterday, next week it is.

As I posted yesterday, we went to breakfast yesterday morning, then went to Walmart and got a motorcycle battery, however on the way home my youngest grandson texted me, he bought a new shotgun and wanted to shoot clays. Well, he and a friend were soon at the house and off we went shooting. Had a good time, fun to spend time with him. The bike just had to wait.

I did get the battery acid added, and the battery installed and charged. Got a few more items nd will be ready to hit the button. Hopefully today.

We had dinner at one of the neighbors last night. Fun time. Steaks and potatoes with a salad. And home made blackberry tonics. Good stuff.

Charlie, sounds like you are already settled in. Enjoy!

Gordon, getting started is the worse. Once I start a project, I just seem to get into it and away I go. But the start is always slow. I over think it.

Frank, glad you are reconnecting with all your friends and family before you hit the road again. Sounds like fun.

Have a great day all! Got grass to mow and a motorcycle to get running.

L.

Good Morning All;
Thanks for the enlightenment Lloyd. Seconds on the overthinking. And procrastination.

Started on trying to run the electric wire. There is a conduit there but it is packed full. No joy yet in adding a wire. So started on the AquaHot pump. Empty out the boiler was the first step. Well there is 5 gallons of fluid in there. Next time I will add a hose to the drain to run the antifreeze to a big pail. After that went well until it came to the installation. They sent an incorrect fitting so off to the automotive place to get a 3/4 to 3/4 line splice. They sent a 1/2 to 3/4. Will finish AquaHot today.

Had a nice rain yesterday morning and a short but moderate thunderstorm in the afternoon. Sun is out and will be a lovely day. Grass is growing as we speak, I think I can hear it!!

Lloyd - I am sure you will get the bike finished by your deadline. I find that being retired means I can work either later in the evening or get out earlier in the morning. Or not!

Rail and Popeye. I am amazed at the number of places the two of you have been. What really amazes me is that you can remember all of them with detail. I have been a lot of places but after while they seem to run together and the detail is lost.

Got a sous vide for a gift. It is one of the immersion type heaters that lets you cook your food in warm water. Throw whatever you want in a bag, drop it in the water, set the water temperature and voila you have a perfectly cooked (whatever). Cooked a steak to medium rare (130), threw it on a hot grill to give it some grill marks and it was great. Interesting thing is you have a big time window to play with. Most things need at least an hour but you can leave it for a long time and it does not overcook!

Anyway time for the stores to open so I am off for a connector.

Have a great day.

Yesterday morning I emptied the rain gauge at the house as I was leaving for the farm to work on stuff. Keep in mind, we just had the driest May in 90 years. This morning the rain gauge had 4.0 inches in it. It all came later afternoon and last night.

It's good to see everyone working on stuff. I think that's what we were designed to do.

Good Evening,

Coffee was great this am and I needed it as I was heading out to a Women On Target shoot. Love these programs. We had a great turnout and a lot of Ladies who got their CPL and haven't shot since. Others who have never picked up a firearm before today. They did great!

Tomorrow is The Well Armed Woman shoot. Busy weekend but I love working with these programs. Did some one-on-one instruction today and expect to do more tomorrow.

Weather was beautiful for the shoot today but we really need rain here. Corn and beans are coming up in the fields but they are dry. Always seems to be too much or not enough. You can always tell by how far down the rivers are and they are low.

Meet & Greet is getting closer, almost there. Going to be fun. Hope everyone makes it and that we have some great weather for visiting.

You all have a great night. Lynne

Morning!

72° here, partly sunny but supposed to rain by noon. Lynne like Frank we had double our normal in May. Too bad we can't share some.

We have very large windows in the back of our house. Enjoy looking out and often seeing the wild life. Yesterday while wacking around the deck I happened apon a 4' black snake who has set up camp under there. We then added 2 and 2 and figured out what is going on. We had lots of those little green lizards (pretty common around here) who lived around our deck, and would come out on the railings, cling to the bird feeder etc.. Well about a week ago we stopped seeing them. Hmmm,,,

I did get the grass cut yesterday, but had a couple different visitors throughout the day so never got back to my motorcycle. Maybe today.

Deb and our daughter are leaving next Friday for a trip to Delaware to visit with Deb's parents. This will leave me in-supervised (Gordon quote) for 6 days!!!!

Lloyd Jr. and I are planning a trip to the smokies, going to go dualsporting. I ordered a set of maps with all the unpaved roads in that area, includes a couple of suggested routes. Should be fun.

Have a great day all. I am running to one of my buddies this morning who does body work, I am connecting him with another buddy who has a 1948 Plymouth that needs a little bit of repair. I am a real match make!

L.
